Both smartphones were released in 2018 and sport modern trendy designs — yep, you've guessed it — we are in the presence of a notch. The Mi A2 Lite comes with a 5.84 inch screen packed into a 5.99 x 2.82 x 0.34 inch frame and weighs about 170 grams. The Nokia X5 sports only a slightly larger display — 5.86 inches — and measures 5.89 x 2.83 x 0.32 inches while weighing about 160 grams.
Both phones aim to offer a full screen experience with thin bezels (hence, the notch). On the back, both phones have their camera setups and fingerprint sensors. One thing to note about the Nokia X5 is the phone's gorgeous dual glass body with integrated polycarbonate frame, which gives it a very classy look.
As for the color options, both phones don't disappoint. The Mi A2 Lite comes in three “tender' color options: light blue, soft beige and classic black. The Nokia X5, on the other hand, is available in night sky blue and the traditional black and white.
As for the displays themselves, the Nokia X5 comes with the screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and 19:9 display ratio. The screen-to-body ratio is an impressive 84%. The Mi A2 Lite, on the other hand, features the 2280 x 1080 resolution and the same 19:9 display ratio.

CPU
The Nokia X5 comes with the Helio P60 processor working with four Cortex-A73 cores clocking at up to 2.0 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocking up to 2.0GHz. The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite packs the Snapdragon 625 CPU with eight Cortex A53 cores.
Putting them side by side, the Helio P60 comes out a definite winner offering LPDDR4 x RAM compared to LPDDR3 RAM on the Snapdragon 625. You get a more advanced GPU for your gaming and a more stable performance overall.
RAM + storage
Here, things are pretty much the same. Actually, they are exactly the same. You get 3GB of RAM in combo with 32GB of storage on both devices. Plus, you can top up the storage on both phones with an SD card of up to 256GB.
Cameras
Both phones sport a double camera setup on the back. On the Mi A2 Lite, you get the 5.0MP + 12.0MP rear cam and a 5MP selfie shooter enhances with AI capabilities. Thanks to the AI portrait mode, you will get the blurred background effect for your selfies — plus, there is the AI facial recognition built-in allowing for easy phone unlock.
The Nokia X5 comes with the 13.0MP + 5.0M camera on the back and an 8MP front cam. You get quality pics thanks to auto focus and, on the front, your selfies will be spiced up with AI as well: blurred portrait background, beauty mode, HDR, real time beautification and more.
Battery
You have decent sized batteries on both phones: 4000mAh on the Mi A2 Lite and 3060mAh on the Nokia X5. Here's what the modes promise you in real time use:
● with the Mi A2 Lite, you get 34 hours of non stop phone conversations, 16.5 hours of video watching, 7.5 hours of gaming and 12 hours of navigating with map apps.
● with the Nokia X5, you will be able to enjoy 17.5 hours of call time, 19.5 hours of music play, 5.5 hours of gaming and 12 hours of video.
Connectivity
With both smartphones, you will be able to stay connected on-the-go via high-speed 4G network, so will be able to enjoy high-speed browsing, smooth gameplay, video watching, etc.
The two smartphones use Bluetooth 4.2 to communicate with wireless devices like headphones, speakers, etc.
Software
Both the Mi A2 Lite and the Nokia X5 run on Android 8.1 with its Android Go, redesigned power menu, new emojis and more.
