HMD Global has officially launched the Nokia X71 for Taiwan, which could be launched as Nokia 8.1 Plus. The mid-range model comes with a Snapdragon 660 and a Triple-Cam.

HMD Globals new mid-range litter has been haunting the leak landscape for quite some time. For the German market it should be published according to current forecast as Nokia 8.1 plus, in between it was also discussed as 6.2. One thing is certain: In Taiwan the model is called Nokia X71 and so it has the manufacturer now officially presented, as reported among other things Nokiamob.

First Nokia display with hole

After the model had already been expected for the MWC, the official presentation finally provides information about the data of the Nokia X71. In addition to a Snapdragon 660, this includes an FHD+ display with 6.39 inches, which brings a premiere: It is the first with a hole in a Nokia smartphone.

The edges of the device are correspondingly thin. Inside, 128 GB of internal memory work together with 6 GB of RAM, and the battery has a capacity of 3,500 mAh. A triple camera with 48, 8 and 5 MP resolution is available on the back.

Nokia 6.2, Nokia 8.1 Plus or something else?

The other Specs of the Nokia X71:

▪ Selfie-Cam with 16 MP

▪ 3.5mm headphone jack

▪ microSD slot

▪ Dimensions: 157,19 x 76,45 x 7,98 mm

▪ Weight: 180 g

▪ pre-installed operating system: Android 9 Pie

The Nokia X71 is available in Taiwan for 345 euros. For Germany neither the price nor the publication date are fixed so far.

Even the name doesn't seem to be in dry cloths yet. The new middle class member may currently be expected as Nokia 8.1 Plus - it could also serve as Nokia 6.2 in Germany or with a completely different baptismal name.
