NVIDIA will work with ARM to produce supercomputers chips
By Sigismondo Eisenhower 2019-06-19 374 0
According to VentureBeat's report, NVIDIA, the video card manufacturer, has granted ARM access to the ARM ecosystem so that it can use all of NVIDIA's high-performance, AI-oriented software by 2020. It's not the first time two companies get together. As the Nvidia Tegra X1 uses the ARM CPU to power the Nintendo Switch, this move makes ARM more competitive in the supercomputer market.
While NVIDIA has focused on high-performance computers for applications such as artificial intelligence, the company's benefit in this collaboration is that ARM will have highly efficient energy chip designs. This move is one of NVIDIA's most important steps in the high-performance computing market.
If we recall, the company had previously paid $ 6.9 billion to Israeli chip maker Mellanox. This was the largest in Nvidia's history.
