Oneplus 7 and Oneplus 7 Pro, which have already had its release date confirmed, is one of the most anticipated Chinese smartphones in this first semester of 2019. Here's all we know about the brand's next Smartphone.

It has become a habit over the years. The launch of OnePlus smartphones is always done in two times in the year. First the new generation, who is entitled to the new number and a change of design quite pronounced, then the model "T" at the end of the year that refines the recipe and corrects certain flaws. This year, however, OnePlus seems ready to change its habits and prepare the launch of two smartphones at the same time: OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro.

Oneplus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 5G

OnePlus decided to do things a little differently with the launch of 5G. The Chinese brand wants to be one of the first to market a 5G Smartphone, but it won't be the oneplus 7 yet. The first 5G models will therefore be marketed in parallel with OnePlus 7 and 7T to avoid overpushing prices according to the brand.

As with other manufacturers, the OnePlus 5G could be a simple declination of OnePlus 7, marketed only in certain areas where 5G is already present. In this folder we will talk mainly about OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, in both cases in 4G LTE version.

Moreover, Ishan Agarwal, who has already succeeded in obtaining serious information in the past, indicates that three models would be well planned, with each time several variations, certainly depending on the amount of onboard memory:

OnePlus 7 (GM1901, GM1903 and GM1905)

OnePlus 7 Pro (GM1911, GM1913, GM1915, GM1917)

OnePlus 7 Pro 5G (GM1920)

Design with pop-up camera or notch

In 2018, OnePlus had yielded to the notch mode to maximize the size of the screen at the front of the device. The oneplus 7 would take this design back, and would be very close to the Oneplus 6T launched at the end of last year.

With the OnePlus 7 Pro, this notch should disappear in favor of a retractable camera. This is in any case what the images published by OnLeaks, whose reputation is no longer to be made, show. For the rest, we would keep a Smartphone with rounded corners with a curved back on the edges. One can notice the integration of three photo sensors on the back of the Smartphone, against 2 for the OnePlus 7.

With a retractable camera, one imagines that OnePlus will count much less on face recognition to identify us. In this case, one can hope that the fingerprint reader built under the screen surface will have made a clear progress to be totally enough. The idea of the retractable camera is not new, this is what vivo offers with the NEX S. Vivo, a trademark of the BBK Electronics Group, also owns OnePlus.

A hull manufacturer has also confirmed the design advanced by OnLeaks, including three photo sensors on the back and a fully edge-to-edge screen on the front, without front camera.

Still concerning the design, the Oneplus 7 will not offer a 3.5 mm jack port. Pete Lau explained that this decision should push the market towards better quality wireless headphones.

The color options

If brands offer more and more colors with their smartphones, it will not be the case of OnePlus with its two new products. Pete LAU, the boss of OnePlus, confirmed that the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro will do in sobriety.

Technical data

Under the hood, the OnePlus 7 should incorporate Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855. The brand has the habit of always choosing the latest chip as of Qualcomm, and there is no doubt that this will again be the case, especially when the brand is invited on stage to talk about it to the announcement of the processor.

According to a rumor, the OnePlus 7 should also integrate UFS 3.0 storage memory. This new generation promises a 2-fold bandwidth, which should allow for a leap in performance, especially for the installation and launching of applications. A first test gives a reading speed of 2300 MB/s for a write speed of 1800 MB/s. For comparison, the UFS 2.1, the previous generation, achieves an average reading speed of 800 MB/s.

The Smartphone will still not be compatible with Wireless charging, oneplus once again wants to rely on its fast charging via USB type-C to compensate.

Oxygen OS based on Android 9.0 pie

The OnePlus 7 should be accompanied by a new major version of the oxygen OS interface, always based on Android 9.0 pie, the latest version of the system. In particular, this new version should emphasize the digital well-being, like the function of the same name developed by Google.

OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro release date

The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will be released in several countries in May 14, such as London, New York and Bangalore. And it will come with the higher price which starts from 749 euros.
