OPPO and Xiaomi show their front under-display camera: neither modules nor "notch" nor punch

The brand plays a lot with the advances and in this case it is just a small advance in the form of video that we do not see yet in any mobile of the brand. They did it with the 10x zoom that we later saw in the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom, and now they show it in what could be a prototype, but in a way that shows how an apparently functional solution is with the best example: making a selfie.
OPPO: we do not see it, but it's there
The appetizer has been shared openly on your Twitter account, talking about a front camera technology under the screen (under-display selfie camera technology.) So, without notches, holes, or modules, OPPO shows how a mobile phone makes a frontal photograph, covering with a finger the place where the camera would be located.
It is a video of a few seconds in which the mobile is shown only in its upper part and under a cover, so it can easily be a functional prototype. The only proof that the photograph has been taken with a camera under the screen is that it passes the finger and the lid, since they also do not show us the photograph that has been made nor is there any more data.
Xiaomi: we also have it ready
We have talked about this solution before, thanks to leaks and patents, but until now we have not seen it come true and working. Interestingly, Xiaomi has poked the leg in his official Weibo account warning that they also have this ready, although the manufacturer did the same with a folding device and at the moment we have not seen it as a final product.
In the case of Xiaomi we see it completely, in a mobile that seems finished (a modified Xiaomi Mi 9), although we do not have a sample of the photograph either. The manufacturer has also put more data on Weibo, explaining that in the area of the front camera there is a transparent part ("transparent screen") with low reflection, capable of displaying the contents of the screen when photographs are not being taken.
In this way, at least in the case of Xiaomi, the zone shows the content as the rest of the panel if the front camera is not activated, becoming transparent when required. They add that it is a 20 megapixel sensor and show an outline of the composition of the screen compared to a standard.
What in both cases we can deduce is that the use of the front by the screen may be equivalent or exceed that obtained with the modular cameras or mechanical solutions we have seen in both manufacturers, with the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 or OPPO Find X , the OPPO Reno or the one we quoted at the beginning. We must see especially the quality achieved by this front camera. The advantage of the modules is that the camera has no more barriers, no more crystals or any layer, so we'll see if the quality is at least equivalent to the integrated cameras with hole in the screen.
