The comparison of sliding experience and speed
OPPO Find X's double-track sliding cover is a sandwich structure, which can rise or fall in about 0.5 seconds, and it is very fast. In addition, it integrates a 3D structured light camera and a front camera, which can quickly identify the face, and is more comfortable than the back-mounted fingerprint of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3's "magnetic power slider" needs to be opened manually via pulling down the screen. So sometime it may be a little slower if the pushing strength is not enough or your finger slips on the screen.
Unlike the OPPO Find X, the sliding structure on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is an integral superimposed structure, so there will be a fault below the mobile phone after sliding. If the phone falls down to the floor in this state, it may be easily damaged.

The defects of the sliding cover design
To be fair, both slider designs have flaws. The electric double track lifting structure of OPPO Find X can be opened and closed for 300 thousand times, and the Mi Mix 3 is almost the same. But they adopts mechanical design, so there will be some wear-and-tear during the use. If the phone fall down during the sliding, the vulnerable sliding cover may be broken. In addition, the sliding part is easy to accumulate dust.
In general, the sliding cover design may be just a compromise solution to achieve the full screen during the transition period, while the in-display earpiece technology may be the best solution of the full screen in the future.
