OPPO Reno vs. OPPO Reno 10x Zoom edition: what’s the difference?
By Cheryl Evans 2019-04-17 6658 0
The main difference: CPU and performance
OPPO Reno is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Octa Core 2.2GHz SoC. The light flagship smartphone has Adreno 616 GPU, LPDDR4 x 1866MHz dual-channel RAM, and USF2.1. The flagship, OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is much more powerful, with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 2.8GHz SoC, Adreno 640 GPU, LPDDR4 x 2133MHz dual-channel RAM, meeting excessive demands on gaming. OPPO Reno 10x Zoom provides you with the extraordinary immersion by generating vibration in 4D gaming thanks to the additional linear motor. Currently, it supports Glory of Kings, Ace Fighter.
The triple heat dissipation system of OPPO Reno 10x Zoom consists of heat conducting gel, three-layer graphite, liquid cooling with copper tube, effectively lower the temperature by 13%. This ensures the highest performance all the time and reducing frame drop by over 73%. More surprisingly, its AI freezer can predict and close the Apps that you barely use, saving power and controlling the temperature to a further extent.
Not just one more camera
OPPO Reno 10x Zoom wins OPPO Reno hands down in shooting. It is these unique features that make it more competitive: 48MP + 13MP + 8MP triple cameras, 10x hybrid optical zoom, periscope lens, dual IOS optical image stabilization (0.001445° high accuracy), 120° wide-angle lens, laser focus sensor, dual LED lights. The 1cm length of the traditional telephoto camera is reduced to 50% with the periscope reflecting the light in the ultra-thin body. With the 13MP telescope camera and the 8MP ultra wide-angle camera, the focal length of OPPO Reno 10x Zoom can be varied continuously from 16 - 160mm, guaranteeing freer composition in photography and capture of all tiniest details at distance.
The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is proved to be twice as powerful in video-taking as OPPO Reno, because the former enables you to record up to 4K 60fps, whereas, with OPPO Reno, only up to 4K 30fps. The difference in slo-mo is also obvious, i.e. OPPO Reno 10x Zoom: 1080P 240fps, 720P 480fps; OPPO Reno: 1080P 120fps, 720P 240fps. Additionally, 10x Zoom edition supports Audio Zoom and Audio 3D pickup to record the sound perfectly during your creation, but OPPO Reno doesn’t.
Dual-frequency GPS: 66.8% more accurate
Reno 10x Zoom takes advantages of L1 and L5 GPS signals, reducing positioning time and improving the accuracy respectively. In comparison, OPPO Reno only supports single-frequency GPS. The dual-frequency GPS positioning is 66.8% more accurate than the single-frequency GPS positioning, according to the test results. Therefore, using Reno 10x Zoom is better for navigation.
Appearance, interface and SIM slot
OPPO Reno is available in four colors, including Fog Sea Green, Extreme Night Black, Nebula Purple, Pink Mist, whereas, OPPO Reno 10x Zoom only offers two options, Fog Sea Green and Extreme Night Black. All look fascinating through the beautiful curved glass. The standard version has 3.5mm audio out, but the 10x Zoom edition supports USB Type-C headphones. Be careful when you consider buying the latter version. As for SIM card and micro SD extension, OPPO Reno features the hybrid dual SIM, OPPO Reno 10x Zoom works with dual SIM cards. OPPO Reno is more user-friendly, allowing you to extend the storage memory.
