Mobius Digital and Annapurna Interactive today released a new trailer for Outer Wilds that also announces the release date for the interested indie to science fiction setting.
Outer Wilds will therefore arrive on May 30, 2019 on PC and Xbox One, with the exclusive launch of the Windows version on Epic Games Store. The game has a rather long history: coming out of a successful crowdfunding sources collection campaign, Outer Wilds won at IGF 2015 in the categories Seumas McNally Grand Prize and Excellence in Design because of its remarkable particularities, but the development process proved to be quite long.
In the game, the protagonist is an astronaut who finds himself camping on an alien planet near his own rocket, just 20 minutes before the same neighbor becomes a supernova by blowing up everything and ending the story. From then on the game restarts and always allows you to play the 20 minutes before the explosion of the star, allowing you to gradually collect new information that remain in subsequent games and making sure that this allows a deeper understanding of the planet, the alien race that inhabited it and the galaxy in general.
