Pocophone F1: the update bringing Netflix in HD and 4K at 60 fps is being deployed

By  Steve Lowry 2019-06-05 2052 0

This is it: after months of promises, Poco announces that the update supporting Widevine L1 on the Pocophone F1 is currently being deployed

Under his influence, Xiaomi multiplied the brands. A strategy that has proved successful, since the firm has recorded exceptional profits at the beginning of 2019 thanks to this and its expansion towards Europe.

One of the most noticed was none other than Poco, which, by releasing the very good F1 Pocophone on the market, succeeded in recovering the crown with the best quality/price ratio. However, it was not free of defects, and the main one was quickly identified: it was not Widevine L1 certified, as DRM allows users to enjoy the content of VOD platforms - Netflix in particular - in HD.

C Manmohan, Poco's product manager, tells us on Twitter that the update providing it is currently being deployed. After weeks or even months of teasing, Pocophone F1 users will finally be able to enjoy it.

This is not the only thing that the update will bring. Video recording at 4K at 60 fps is also included, as is a Turbo mode for games. The latest security patch is also deployed at the same time.

The update named MIUI 10.3.3.4.0.0.PEJMIXM will however deploy in several waves: patience is required for users, who may still have to wait a few days before seeing it displayed on their devices.

However, we cannot help but underline how exemplary Poco's follow-up on the issue has been, as it is rare to see such features added months after the release of a device.
