Initially it was supposed that Redmi smartphone based on single-chip system Snapdragon 855 will be called Redmi Pro 2, i.e. formally it will become the successor of Redmi Pro released three years ago, which was also equipped with a top chipset, but not with Qualcomm, but with MediaTek. However, the latest information indicates that the model will be named Redmi X. It should be noted that this name has already appeared in the Internet.
The design of Redmi X will be completely frameless, the frames of the video will show the absence of any cutout in the screen. However, unlike Mi Mix 3, in which the problem of front camera location was solved by using the body-slider, in this case the front photomodule pulling out from the upper end will be used. It is noteworthy that less than a month ago, the executive director of Redmi, Lu Weibing, claimed that the brand's smartphone based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 platform will not get such a design.
As for the rear camera, as expected, it's in Redmi X triple. According to the preliminary information, the main one is a 48-megapixel module. Other features of the smartphone include a fingerprint scanner built into the display and a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones.
