Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (T280N) review

By  Adeline Kuang 2019-06-03 387 0

The beginner tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (T280N) convinces in the test. The long battery life of around 7 hours in the video and the smooth operation make the device a good all-purpose tablet for little money. The only weak point with the 7-inch tablet is the charging time of around 4 hours.

drawbacks

Display with HD resolution

slightly high display mirroring

only Android 5

good battery life

long charging time

With its Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (T280N), Samsung introduces another tablet especially for beginners. In contrast to the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, this 7 inch device is not only smaller, but also has a higher display resolution. The HD display with 1,280 x 720 pixels is doing quite well in the test. The brightness is at an average of 390 candelas per square meter and the chessboard contrast of 135:1 is also convincing. The display only loses important points due to the small color space coverage and the somewhat high reflection.

Long charging time, good performance

In our battery life measurement, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 is quite convincing. For a size of 7 inches, the tablet has a large 4,000 mAh battery. Measured in highest brightness, we were able to achieve a runtime of 7:24 hours in the Internet test. Only the charging process of a little over 4 hours is clearly too long: The tiny power supply has only 5 watts - but even with a stronger power supply you can't charge the Galaxy Tab A 7.0 faster.

Due to its small size, the tablet fits very well in the hand and you won't notice any jolts when surfing. Tasks can also be mastered quickly in split-screen mode, the 1.5 GB RAM is large enough. You only have to reckon with limitations in demanding games: In our measurement in 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited, we only score 2,774 points.
