Sharp will supply Nintendo's new Switch with IGZO display

Sharp officials did not specify which Switch will feature the latest IGZO screen. But according to previous speculation, Nintendo has "the idea of further upgrading the Switch family lineup," so the Switch model with the new screen may not refer to the original version that has just been upgraded. 

Sharp is the first manufacturer to use the IGZO for large-scale production of display panels. The main characteristics of this material are high resolution, durability and low energy consumption. 

Asked what type of monitor Nintendo would provide, Sharp's executive vice president, Naruto Nomura, said: "We will provide our best IGZO panels."

As early as March, the Wall Street Journal reported that Sharp would become a supplier of Nintendo Switch screens this year.
