Sigma fp is the world's smallest mirrorless camera: specs, features and availability

In terms of specifications, Sigma fp features a full frame 35mm Bayer CMOS sensor that offers 24.6 effective megapixels. This camera is compatible with L-mount lenses, so lenses manufactured by Leica, Panasonic or Sigma itself may be used.

The Sigma fp has an ISO 100-25600 range (expandable to 6-102400), offers support for HDR in photo and video, as well as the possibility to create Cinemagraphs, which are static images in which only one part is animated. There is also sequenced capture at 18 frames per second.

The body replaces the mechanical trigger with a fully electronic one. According to the manufacturer, it offers a variety of advantages such as being able to take pictures anywhere without worrying about noise or vibrations.

The camera supports 12-bit UHD 4K/24p video recording and a Director mode for preview and adjustment. On the back is a 3.2 inch LCD touch screen that takes up much of the space, although there are some physical buttons to access the setup menu and other camera controls.

There is a USB 3.1 connection as well as an external microphone and trigger input and an HDMI port. The Sigma fp is compatible with multiple accessories such as flash, adapters to mount lenses from Canon and other manufacturers, media for better stability when recording video, as well as standard tripod input.

The Sigma fp will be available in the fall of this year, although it did not specify the suggested price.
