Sony Xperia 1, the smartphone with Alpha-style mirrorless camera

By  Zim Watson 2019-05-20 210 0

From the latest generation of mirrorless cameras to the top of the range smartphone. Some of the technological solutions of Sony Apha professional cameras are on a par in Xperia 1, Sony's new flagship smartphone, demonstrating that it is always on the field of imaging that the challenge between the leading devices of the major brands is played out.

The Xperia 1, therefore, has the ambition of enclosing a professional display and film technologies in an elegant and refined device. Yes, because it's the world's first smartphone to offer a 21:9 (6.5-inch) 4K Oled CinemaWide display with built-in Eye AF. Your camera has three lenses with up to 10 fps quick shutter function and AF/AE tracking. At the heart of this smartphone is the X1 mobile processor, based on the technologies adopted by the successful Bravia TV series, which allows HDR (High Dynamic Range) remastering to give greater contrast, color definition and sharpness to any content. A video supported by the performance of the Dolby Atmos format, developed in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, and 360 Reality Audio by Sony, with three-dimensional audio.

The Xperia 1's 12 MP triple camera features a 16 mm lens for wide panoramic views, a 26 mm lens and a 52 mm telephoto lens (35 mm equivalent). Xperia 1 also uses technologies inherited from Alpha cameras with interchangeable lenses: for the first time in the world, thanks to the Bionz X processor for mobile devices, it was possible to equip a smartphone with Eye AF (Autofocus) and continuous shooting up to 10 fps with AF/AE (Autofocus and Automatic Exposure) tracking.

The F1.6 lens and Dual Photodiode image sensor, with a large pixel pitch of 1.4 µm, allow you to shoot in low light conditions, keeping moving subjects in focus, while noise reduction in RAW images should ensure - assures the company - extraordinary levels of sharpness. Cinema Pro, thanks to the algorithm of the exclusive Optical SteadyShot hybrid stabilization system, has been designed to ensure smooth and stable recordings. Xperia 1 will be available in Italy from June in black, purple, grey and white. The price? You don't know it yet. On Amazon Germany had appeared at 949 euros but then it was deleted. Sony will shortly publish the official price.
