SteelSeries Apex Pro keyboards: price, features and release date

By  Daniel Camilo 2019-05-30 1617 0

The Computex 2019 is in full swing and it is obviously an opportunity for manufacturers to announce many surprises. Among the small hiding places is SteelSeries. The manufacturer has just unveiled its Apex Pro, a fully customizable keyboard.

SteelSeries has just announced the Apex Pro and Apex Pro TKL. Be careful, this has nothing to do with the Apex Legends game since it is a question of two keyboards. The brand announces "the most customizable devices in the world". What do they mean by that?

Well, the Apex Pro allows players to adjust the required distance when they press a key. That leaves you thinking, but everything seems to be settled simply via the SteelSeries Engine software.

Typically, people who simply type on the keyboard and some players use slow and long activation (about 3.6mm) to increase accuracy. But others prefer a shorter activation time, with a sensitivity of 0.4mm for more speed. The Apex Pro thus seems, on paper at least, to combine the best of both worlds. The keys use Omnipoint Patented technology to achieve this result.

Customization is also done through an integrated OLED Smart Display. This screen displays notifications for applications such as Discord, Spotify, and games.

The Apex Pro is available in two formats, full-size and ten keyless (TKL). The full-size Apex Pro will be available in France at €229.99 in September while the TKL Apex Pro will be available in France at the end of September at a retail price of €209.99.
