iOS 13: the dark side of the force is now really dark
iOS 13 is there, but we had a strong suspicion. As expected, Apple talked for many minutes about its dark mode. So yes, the iPhone has a dark mode but it would be a shame to remember only that.
For example, iOS 13 introduces its own connection system (sign-in with Apple) to protect its users. This is an identifier that hides the user's actual email to a third party when they register on a website or application. Apple Plans has been revised with new maps and the Look Around function (like Stret View).
On the other hand, the Photos application has more editing options, not just for photographs. Videos can finally be edited from the gallery (especially when they have been shot in the wrong direction). In addition, improvements have been added in the detection of duplicate photographs and in the organization of images with intelligent automatic selection.
Finally, Apple also announces that the performance of iOS 13 devices will be better. Faster unlocking by Face ID and 50% faster downloading of applications, apps are expected to open twice as fast. We look forward to seeing it.

iPadOS: it separates from iOS
The iPad now has its own OS: iPadOS, a kind of iOS fork. The iPadOS user experience differs from iOS in that the home screen displays more applications per page. You can also drag the icons to display additional information in the form of widgets, such as appointments or weather. This OS also introduces new gestures, plit View and Slide Over. It becomes a little easier to switch from one app to another, or to open the multi-task. One of the interesting demos was to open two notes at the same time and drag items from an open email next to it.
Ah, and you can also connect a USB stick or SD card now, they will be 100% functional. Safari, on the other hand, will now behave in the same way as the desktop version. It will no longer be identified as a mobile device, which will allow access to a much richer user experience.
You can also use the iPad as a screen for your Mac, without going through a third-party app. Find our complete article dedicated to iPadOS where you can discover other new features of this new OS.
For information, here are the iPads that will benefit from iPadOS:
▪ iPad (5th generation)
▪ iPad mini (5th generation)
▪ iPad Air (3rd generation)
▪ iPad Air 2

watchOS 6: Apple Watch adopts the App Store
watchOS 6, the Apple Watch OS, has been announced: we will remember some new apps and especially the arrival of the App Store. In addition, there are new dials that are necessarily designed to be as aesthetic as possible.
macOS Catalina: it glides smoothly to the iPad
Clearly, we have mainly retained the Catalyst project, to facilitate the porting of iPad apps on Mac. But there was also macOS Catalina: the new version of the operating system for Mac. First thing, iTunes disappears. Now, the application is really the union of three different tools: Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV, which offer new features.
For the rest, it's a minor update of macOS. Apple has added an interesting accessibility option: voice control, which allows all types of operations on the computer with voice commands. The American firm insisted on confidentiality, orders will be placed locally.
Another interesting option for macOS Catalina is Find My, which now combines Find My Friends and Find my iPhone. It is available for macOS and iOS and allows, for example, to locate laptops even when they are offline, disconnected from data networks. How does it work? The Mac sends Bluetooth signals to iOS devices that act as Bluetooth beacons and can triangulate the position of the lost or stolen Mac. All this information is encrypted, so there is no risk to privacy according to Apple.
The Screentime function provides access to digital well-being, as on iOS and Android. You can follow your activity to see that yes... you work too much.
New MacPro and Pro Display XDR
Apple has also updated its workstation with a new monitor: here is the MacPro and the Pro Display XDR screen.
New products already in beta
If you want to test one of the new features announced at WWDC 2019, the first betas of iOS 13, iPadOS 13, watchOS 6, tvOS 13 and macOS Catalina are available. However, you must have access to Apple's development tools for testers registered in the public beta program in July. The new OS versions will then be deployed at the end of the year. As for the Mac Pro and its new monitor, they are scheduled for the fall.
