This is the Nokia 9 PureView

By  Linky Johnson 2019-04-19 1002 0

The Nokia 9 PureView was unveiled on February 24, 2019, a day before the Mobile World Congress started. It is the spiritual successor to the. The Nokia 9 PureView is mainly due to its vijfdubbele camera on the back.

In addition, the device has a virtually borderless display, fingerprint scanner under the monitor and runs on a clean version of Android 9.0 (Pie). Thanks to the Android One program, you are also guaranteed long-term support for Android updates.

The main Nokia 9 PureView specifications

The Nokia 9 PureView is the flagship of the Finns in 2019. It has excellent specifications and an affordable price tag. These are the main features:

5.99 inch screen with resolution of 2880 at 1440 pixels

Five cameras on the back (all 12 megapixels), 20 megapixel selfiecamera with flash

Fingerprint scanner under the screen

Snapdragon 845 chip with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage

Scoop: Five camera sensors

With the 9 PureView, Nokia has a first address. It is, as far as we know, the first smartphone with as many as five camera sensors on the back. These lenses all have a resolution of 12 megapixels and an aperture of f/1.8. Two of the sensors shoot pictures in color: The remaining three are monochrome.

The advantage of this is that black and white photos come out incredibly well. Every time you shoot a snapshot, each lens makes its own image, after which they are joined together into one image. Nokia works for the Vijfdubbele camera together with Light and ZEISS, two well-known camera companies that have earned their streaks. The five lenses capture up to ten times more light than traditional camera sensors.

The Nokia 9 PureView can shoot images in RAW DNG format. You can edit them directly in Lightroom, the well-known Adobe photo app that is pre-installed. Of course you can also get started with bokeh photos, where a sharpness-depth effect is applied. For example, a person is better off against the background, which appears blurred.

Powerful hardware and fine design

The Nokia 9 PureView has a 5.99 inch screen that runs from Edge to Edge (2880 x 1440 pixels), without notch. Instead, the 20 megapixel Selfiecamera in a bezel is processed at the top of the screen, just like the flash. The IP67 certificate makes the housing waterproof. The display supports HDR10, a technique that makes photos and videos even more beautiful.

Underneath the display is a fingerprint scanner. You can unlock it by putting your finger on the designated spot. More and more expensive smartphones, including the OnePlus 6T and Huawei Mate 20 Pro, have such a scanner. A fingerprint scanner under the screen is slightly less secure than a physical scanner.

The Nokia 9 PureView is powered by a Snapdragon 845 chip with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. This processor choice is striking, because the 855-variant, which is more powerful, is already available. Other flagships, such as the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Sony Xperia XZ4, have this newer chip though. Nevertheless, the Nokia 9 PureView is powerful enough for most people.

Android One Software

The Nokia 9 PureView on the outcome. It is extra nice that the appliance is part of the Android One program. This means that the software is stripped of unnecessary apps and extras and therefore is extra fast. In addition, security updates are guaranteed for two years.

The Finnish manufacturer also promises two major Android updates. In recent years, Nokia has built up a strong reputation when it comes to software updates. The Nokia 9 PureView has a 3320 mAh battery with fast charge. This makes your battery in half an hour for about half Vol. Unfortunately, the appliance does not have a headphone jack. Fortunately, the Finnish manufacturer offers a piece of design that fits into the USB-C-Port.

Nokia 9 PureView Release and Price

The Nokia 9 PureView is located in the shops from mid-March. Unfortunately, HMD Global did not publish a specific release date. However, it was announced that the international retail price is 699.

His predecessor, the Nokia 8 Sirocco, cost 749 euro for the outcome. We therefore expect the 9 PureView to receive roughly the same retail price, since you often still have to add taxes at the Dutch price. Keep an eye on this page for the specific release date and price.
