Vernee X 4G phablet VS. Vernee Mix 2: a contest of strength
By GB Blog Official 2018-02-24 3453 3
Both Vernee X 4G Phablet and the Vernee Mix 2 smartphones pride themselves on giving you the ever-so-popular "all screen" type of experience thanks to large 6 inch displays and the almost bezel-less design. They both run on Android 7 and come with all the functionality you would expect of modern-day smartphones. But there are some differences as well which, in their turn, explain the significant gap in pricing.
What extra features do you get with the more expensive Vernee X 4G? Or is it better to go with the Vernee Mix 2? Let's find out!
You will not spot that many differences when it comes to the models' design. Both phones come with a 6-inch display and both aim for the popular bezel-less look. You will notice that the screen takes up most of the Vernee X as well as the Vernee Mix 2. Even the sizing is almost the same. The Vernee X measures 6.28 x 2.99 x 0.39 inches while the Mix 2 is just slightly smaller at 2 6.21 x 2.27 x 0.3 inches.
Yep, we should look inside for the key differences for these two.
As we've mentioned earlier, both phones pride themselves on being "all screen". Both feature expansive 6 inch FHD displays with 18:9 ratio. Both phones have also managed to fit a phablet-style display onto a relatively small body without compromising their portability and ease of use.
Processing power and storage
The Vernee X comes with the Helio P23 Octa Core CPU clocked at 2.0GHz. You get 6GB of RAM for efficient multitasking and 128GB of internal storage. Plus, you can extend the storage further with a 128GB SD card (not included with the phone).
The Vernee Mix 2 sports an older MTK6757 processor, also Octa Core and clocked at 2.5GHz. You get a bit less RAM and storage space: 4GB RAM (which should be enough for all standard phone operations) and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further extended with a 128GB card (not included with the phone).
The Vernee X is presented as a phone with 4 cameras — and it is truly so. At the front, you have a 13.0MP and a 5.0MP cameras and at the back there are also two lenses: 16.0MP + 5.0MP.
The Vernee Mix 2 offers a more modest setup: a 8.0MP front camera and a 13.0MP + 5.0MP rear cam.
In this contest, the Vernee X wins hands down — the smartphone comes with a powerful 6200 mAh battery and is equipped with Quick Charge technology. With a number of hardware optimization features and the latest Helio P23 processor, the phone's battery is capable of an incredible 620 hours on standby. This is a true gift for all those who love to use their phone as a mini TV and a great extra for gamers.
The Vernee Mix 2 comes with a smaller, but still very decent battery at 4200mAh, which will give you enough juice for all media operations — but yes, not as much as with the Vernee X.
There is one more area where the Vernee X get ahead — innovation. The new model comes with Face ID — facial recognition technology that allows you to unlock your smartphone by scanning your face. True, the tech in this field is still very much under development — even Face ID on the iPhone is said to come with one or two glitches. But, with the Vernee X, you will get to try things out for yourself and, in the meantime, enjoy the benefits of advanced data protection.
Now, let's take a look at the pricing.
As you would expect it, the Vernee X sports a higher price tag. You can be smartphone's lucky owner if you are willing to spend $249.99. The Mix 2, on the other hand, is a budget device available for only $159.99.
The $90 difference is substantial, but the extra cash you will spend on the Vernee X will also be worth it if you are looking for a generally more powerful device.
Well, except the price, the Vernee X is a few steps ahead of the Mix 2: especially when it comes to processing power, RAM and storage capacity and does come with a larger battery than on the Mix 2. Plus, you do get to try out that Face ID thing.
