So far, the watchOS updates have mostly been bigger anyway, so we can not expect a complete redesign of the elements, apps and menus for watchOS 6 or 7. However, the designer Matt Birchler of BirchTree shows just how visually a very exciting update could look.
New dials and sleep tracking
Among other things, Birchler is redesigned dials, with a new Siri Watchface, which is better matched to the large Series 4 display.
In addition, some dials come with Always On function, such as this:
In addition, the concept shows an Apple sleeping app, called "Snoozies". With this, a new activity rings will be introduced: "Well-Being Rings". The clock is to estimate how well you could recover in your sleep, which in combination with the meditation app could lead to a series of new rings in a separate app, so Birchler.
In addition, he considered a new make-up for the dock, which should appear in a grid with 4 apps at the same time. Whether this really serves the clarity in everyday life, or turns exactly in the other direction, is questionable.
In conclusion, the designer just means that he sees a real redesign only with watchOS 7.
I think watchOS 7 next year will be about time for the Apple Watch, but for now I think the changes above will help make the Apple Watch more useful to those who have already and more jump on board and get one for the first time.
