Honor, the subsidiary of the Chinese giant Huawei, has gradually established itself on the French market. Its recipe: smartphones with an excellent price-quality ratio. Honor devices generally take back the hardware and features of the Huawei released earlier, but are offered at even more affordable prices. Hence their growing popularity in France.
If there is one criticism that can be made of Honor, it is the difficulty in finding his way around his different scales. Not everything is necessarily very clear to the consumer, with many references close to each other. But don't worry, this guide is here to help you.
Honor View 20: one of the most powerful smartphones on the market
Inside the beast is the powerful SoC Kirin 980, the same processor that powers the Mate 20, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, a 4000 mAh battery with fast recharge and a 48 MP photo sensor designed by Sony. Side and power, the View 20 looks like a real bomb.
Among its main assets are its magnificent design, its hole screen, a real success, but also its high-flying performance. For a low price, you also have a smartphone that offers excellent battery life thanks to its high-performance fast charging system. Interface level, Magic UI based on Android 9.0 is very intuitive. The smartphone takes very belless pictures in good conditions and we also get a 2x zoom, portraits and selfies at the top!
Honor 10: worthy of a top-of-the-range
The Honor 10 is a smartphone released in May 2018. Available for less than 300 euros, it offers performances that are close to top-of-the-range. Equipped with a Kirin 970 SoC and taking advantage of Artificial Intelligence, it also has several features found on the Huawei P20, which is already a tone above price level. Android 8.1 and the EMUI 8.1 overcoat also do wonders.
Good range, compatibility with fast charging, beautiful screen and an extraordinary design, the Honor 10 is really convincing. At this rate, it's hard to do better.
Honor 10 Lite : top design for less than 200 €
Huawei launches 2019 with the Honor 10 Lite, which is launched a few days after the Huawei P Smart 2019, which is its alterego from the parent brand's catalogue. We were able to test this Honor 10 Lite which is an excellent smartphone for its price-quality ratio. A mid-range model equipped with a 6.21 inch Full HD+ and FullView display (19.5:9 ratio). It is powered by the Kirin 710 SoC clocked at 2.2 GHz.
Honor Play: the smartphone dedicated to gaming
Honor has surfed on the trend of the smartphone gaming to offer its own product, the Honor Play. Very powerful for its price range with its SoC Kirin 970 coupled with 4 GB of RAM, it has a very nice 6.3-inch LCD screen with high brightness and 2340 x 1080 pixel resolution. It also benefits from Huawei's Turbo GPU technology, which allows it to increase in-game performance and deliver higher quality graphics.
Its 3750 mAh battery provides it with a good autonomy and the fast recharge does the job very well. He is good in pictures when the conditions are good, but has more trouble when there is no light. At this price and this level of performance, you have to make concessions somewhere. Released under Android 8.1 with EMUI 8.2 overlay, it should be eligible for an update to Android Pie 9.0.
Honor 8X: an excellent value for money
Mid-range smartphone, the Honor 8X has an excellent value for money. The latter features a homemade HiSilicon Kirin 710 Octo-Core processor (clocked at 4×2.2 GHz + 4×1.7 GHz) coupled to 4 GB.
