Windows 10 Mobile 1703 stopped today, 1709 will ended in December 2019

On Tuesday's patch day, Windows 10 Mobile version 1703 technical support ended today, according to Microsoft's Windows life cycle, in the future, Microsoft will only update Windows 10 Mobile version 1709.

But for Windows 10 Mobile version 1709, it will also end in December 2019, while stopping technical support for related devices. Since the advent of Windows 10 Mobile, it has been serving Microsoft's own products, frequent product planning, architecture, and implementation changes, resulting in a weak ecosystem.

If you have a mobile phone running Windows 10 Mobile version 1709, you don't have to worry too much. The news says Microsoft developers are developing a desktop-based Windows 10 Mobile Shell.

The mobile version of Creators Update was quite strange, because there were only two phones that could accept it and at the same time did not catch on to Fall Creators Update. These were Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL with Snapdragon 400, 1 GB RAM and 720p screen. Both models debuted with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 and that's what made them stand out from other Creators Update compatible devices. In fact, there were few devices with WP 8.1 Update 2. Most of them were switching from Update 1 directly to Windows 10 Mobile.

After the end of support for Creators Update, for the next six months the last existing version of W10M, i.e. Fall Creators Update, will be supported. Complete support for Windows 10 Mobile will be discontinued on December 10 this year. The 1709 version is supported by only 9 models: Alcatel Idol 4S and 4S Pro, Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL, HP Elite x3, Lenovo Softbank 503LV, Microsoft Lumia 550, Microsoft Lumia 650, Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL, Trinity NuAns Neo and VAIO Phone Biz (VPB051). Today's expiration date therefore applies only to Lumia 640/640XL.
