Xbox Scarlett: 5 key features

By  Kali Waller 2019-06-10 565 0

The day has finally come. The Xbox conference has already been held at E3 2019, and in addition to some of the company's top games (such as Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Halo Infinite and Gears 5), we've had the first preview of Xbox Scarlett. This is the new generation console from Microsoft, and then we will see the 5 keys of Xbox Scarlett.

Microsoft has repeated the play it made in the presentation of Xbox One X: has ''mounted'' a video in which developers and managers of the company praise the capabilities of the new generation consoles and, above all, Xbox Scarlett. The truth is that everything is in line with what has been filtered these last few weeks, and also in tune with what Sony has confirmed from PS5, and that's good.

And this is a very promising console, especially for those looking for graphic power and immediacy. Here are the 5 keys to Xbox Scarlett shared by Microsoft:

● 120 frames per second.

● Resolution 8K.

● Four times more powerful than Xbox One X.

● 40 times better performance than the current generation of consoles.

● Integrated SSD and high bandwidth.

Actually, the words ''is a monster'' that were poured into the Xbox One X presentation could be repeated on this occasion. And is that, in the absence of knowing specific components, Xbox Scarlett could not paint better (and, with it, the new generation, since PS5, as we said, should go very in line with the new Xbox).

One of the worst points of the current generation is the absence of a fast storage format, something that will be ''resolved'' with the inclusion of an SSD. Thanks to this, and as they have confirmed since the American company, the loading times will ''disappear''. This is very similar to what Sony showed a few weeks ago in a demo of Spider-Man on PS5.

In addition, it will have a new CPU and GPU architecture (using Navi and AMD's Zen 2 processors) that will allow the console to be four times more powerful than Xbox One X, which is soon said. This, coupled with the SSD, gives us those 40x in performance over the previous generation. And yes, Xbox Scarlett will also support raytracing to provide more realistic lighting.

Now, what about Xbox Scarlett's 8K resolution and 120 fps? If we go by parts, the 120 fps are affordable. A current powerful PC can handle that (and more) without problems, and the power of Scarlett will allow you to reach those 120 frames per second that will go very well in specific genres (and that would join the FreeSync compatibility of some monitors).

About the 8K resolution, it's too early to say if it will be in games or in movies and specific contents. At the moment, the only thing that Xbox has confirmed is that Xbox Scarlett will be compatible with 8K resolution. To see this, we will have to wait for E3 2020, but at the moment we already know that Xbox Scarlett will arrive at Christmas next year, and will do so with Halo Infinite under the arm.
