Xiaomi Mi 9T (Redmi K20) vs Samsung Galaxy A70 vs Xiaomi Mi 9 SE vs Realme 3 Pro vs Huawei P30 Lite: comparison between specs, features and price

It was announced in China as Redmi K20, and comes to Spain under the name of Xiaomi Mi 9T, the new Chinese proposal for the upper-middle range has a lot to say. The firm wanted to bet everything on design, power and technologies that we usually see in higher ranges, such as the AMOLED screen or the fingerprint reader under the screen.

It makes sense, therefore, to compare this Xiaomi Mi 9T with its direct competition. For this, we have selected the Samsung Galaxy A70, Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, Realme 3 Pro and Huawei P30 Lite, alternatives in a price range and with a power similar to that of the new Xiaomi proposal.

Worthy member of the anti-notch brigade

Realme 3 Pro pop-up camera

The Xiaomi Mi 9T is one of the few devices that manages to avoid notch in the mid-range. How do you do this? Through a pop-up camera that emerges from inside the device. This allows the Mi 9T not to have any kind of notch on its panel, and to have a cleaner design. Its direct competition bets mainly on the notch of drop, another of the most popular solutions to avoid the classic notch to the iPhone XS.

The Xiaomi Mi 9T has a larger panel than its rivals, but its dimensions are measured. The pop-up camera and the front end are the main responsible.

Also note that the Xiaomi Mi 9T has a larger panel than its rivals (except in the case of the Samsung Galaxy A70), with a diagonal screen of 6.39 inches. However, thanks to avoiding notch and taking advantage of bevels, it achieves dimensions of 156.7 x 74.3 x 8.8 mm, a size similar to, for example, the Realme 3 Pro, terminal with a smaller panel, 6.3 inches.

Talk about power

Xiaomi Mi 9T

The Xiaomi Mi 9T is the most powerful proposal in its range. It comes from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730, one of the best alternatives found in the catalog of the American company, and significantly superior to proposals more than solvent as the Snapdragon 675 Galaxy A70 or 710 Realme 3 Pro. It stands out for being made with a lithograph of 8nm, while its rivals bet on lithographs of 10nm (Snapdragon 710 and 712), 11nm (Snapdragon 675) and up to 16nm in the case of Kirin Huawei P30 Lite.

Memory configurations are similar. Only the Samsung Galaxy A70 and Huawei P30 Lite start from 128 GB as internal base memory. Similarly, both P30 Lite and Realme 3 Pro, have 4 GB of RAM as a base, while the rest part of 6 GB.

Luckily for all proposals, the memory settings are similar. In the case of the Xiaomi Mi 9T, part of the 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, although we can bet for a version with the same RAM and 128 GB of memory. Terminals like Realme 3 Pro or Huawei P30 Lite start from 4 GB, while Samsung Galaxy A70 and Xiaomi Mi 9 SE start from 6 GB of RAM. As for internal storage, only the A70 and P30 Lite start from 128 GB as base configuration, a point in their favor.

Milliamp Party

The mid-range bets on good batteries, and this is something to celebrate. In this comparison, the clear loser is the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, the only one that has a battery of 3.070mAh, somewhat scarce in relation to the panel it has. This is followed by the Huawei P30 Lite, with a 3.340mAh battery. Both terminals, in our tests, arrive at the day of use, but their competitors are in the league of a day and a half and even two days.

Both the Xiaomi Mi 9T as the Samsung Galaxy A70 and the Realme 3 Pro bet on batteries of 4000 or more milliamps, something that, along with fast charging technologies, place them in the could of autonomy in the mid-range.

The rest of the terminals bet on milliamperes in a good way, with 4,000mAh for the Xiaomi Mi 9T, 4050mAh for the Realme 3 Pro and 4,500mAh in the Samsung Galaxy A70. All the devices have fast charge, although the clear victory goes to Realme, which has VOOC Charge 3.0, a technology inherited from the high range that allows the terminal to charge in almost an hour. The Samsung Galaxy A70 doesn't come up short, with a 25W charge. The Huawei P30, the Xiaomi Mi 9SE and the Mi 9T have all opted for the 18W, the most traditional fast charge in this range.

Many cameras, different configurations

Xiaomi Mi 9T cameras

The Xiaomi Mi 9T bets on a 48 megapixel main sensor, a second 13 megapixel wide-angle camera (124.8º) and a third 8 megapixel sensor for the telephoto lens. Artificial intelligence and night mode are major assets. Its front camera is 8 megapixels, and emerges from the body of the terminal.

Triple camera with wide angle, virtually no mid-range terminal wants to stay without bringing this versatility.

With the exception of the Realme 3 Pro, the rest of the proposals also opt for the triple rear camera, with main, telephoto and wide-angle sensors. In the case of the Huawei P30 Lite we have sensors of 48, 8 and 2 megapixels, the A70 bets on the 32, 8 and 5 megapixels, and the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE maintains a configuration identical to that of the Mi 9T: 48, 13 and 8 megapixels.

Price as a differential factor

The Xiaomi Mi 9T lands in Spain for 329 euros. Both the Samsung Galaxy A70. The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE can currently be bought for just under 300 euros, a sweet price, but its only trick is that the size is smaller than the Mi 9T. Otherwise, it loses on battery, has notch and has a less powerful processor.

In terms of value for money, the Xiaomi Mi 9T is difficult to beat. More power than all its rivals, finished in crystal and without notch.

For its part, the Galaxy A70 is also far away in terms of power, as well as finish (plastic vs glass), although we gain in amperage, screen size (if you like big phones is a pro), and charging speed. For its part, the Huawei P30 Lite and Realme 3 Pro are below in RAM and power configuration, although the Realme has a remarkable value for money, with a price that starts from less than 200 euros.
