Thus, the Chinese would sell this device at an even lower price than it will charge by the "most powerful " members of the Redmi family 7. However, to date, Xiaomi has not commented on the new information. So we should take everything as just another market rumor.
Confused? Xiaomi can relaunch Redmi 7 under the name Redmi Y3 in the Indian market
Understanding Xiaomi's launch policy is not an easy task, and is especially confusing as new mobiles emerge. The Chinese manufacturer is known to launch devices by specific region and give different names to the same smartphone to launch it in different markets or even reuse the original name of another phone in another region.
The dfference is subtle and know how to distinguish Redmi Note 7 from Red 7 requires attention to avoid confusion. And about that last one, a novelty.
We recently reported that the intermediate Redmi Y3 received Wi-Fi certification and can be released shortly. However, what XDA Developers ' wording believes is that this device is actually a relaunch of REDMI 7-which may be on its way to Brazil-in the Indian market.
The device has the serial number M1810F6G and, combining the firmware analysis, the Wi-FI certification, the TENAA listing and internal sources, XDA knows about the existence of eight different model numbers in the M1810F6G line.
See below the table disclosed by the XDA Developers team:
Model number | Codename Device | Trade name (and region) |
M1810F6G | onc_global | Redmi Y3 |
M1810F6H | onc_global_b | It is presumed to be REDMI Y3 |
M1810F6I | onc_india | It is presumed to be Redmi Y3 (India) |
M1810F6LG | onclite | Redmi 7 (global) |
M1810F6LH | onclite_global_b | Redmi 7 |
M1810F6LI | onclite_india | Redmi 7 (India)-As mentioned in the RF Exposure section on the website of Mi India |
M1810F6LE | Unknown | Previously it was assumed to be REDMI 7 (China), but the color variant was not released in the TENAA |
M1810F6LT | Unknown | Just seen at TENAA |
According to XDA, the Onc_global model is REDMI Y3, and the Onc_india is Redmi 7 (India), and that means Xiaomi is probably turning Redmi 7 into Redmi Y3 in the Indian market. The community further states that the Onclite model is REDMI 7 (China), but it will not be exactly the same as the Indian Redmi 7, or Onc_india.
Xiaomi has launched Y-series devices in the Asian country, and it is unclear which smartphone will be released under the name Redmi Y3 in India. There is the possibility that it is the Pro variant of REDMI 7.
The hypotheses raised by XDA Developers still lack an official position of the Chinese manufacturer. While there is no word from Xiaomi, it remains to await new information on the arrival of Redmi Y3 in India.
