As one would expect, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 takes multitasking to a higher level with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa core Cortex A53 64 bit processor clocking at 2GHz.
When it comes to RAM and internal storage space, the Redmi Note 4 features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage compared to the Xiaomi Redmi 4 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. In general, Redmi Note 4 has a larger memory. While both have a further expandable external memory up to 128GB.

When it comes to design, the Redmi Note 4 has a metal body with slight curves on the back and glossy plastic on the front. The Redmi 4 comes with a similar overall design, but is slightly "flatter" than the Note 4's frame with rounded edges. The Redmi 4 is also smaller than the Note 4 - and thus is more convenient for single handed usage.

The smartphones come with the custom MiUI user interface: MIUI 8 for Redmi 4 and MIUI 8.1 for the Note 4.
The model you go for basically comes down to one and the same question: what are you looking for? Not exactly the bigger is better. If you are searching for a compact smartphone for standard everyday use, then the Redmi 4 does the job perfectly. The Redmi Note 4, on the other hand, will be a better choice for those who prefer large screen phablets with enhanced multimedia capabilities.
