Xperia F: Sony may launch its first foldable smartphone in 2020

The MySmartPrice site, whose information is often targeted, relays a "report from China" that assures Sony that it is currently working on a folding smartphone project called Xperia F. The F would obviously refer to "Fold" as foldable in French, in the same way as Samsung's Galaxy Fold.
Sony would launch a foldable Xperia F in 2020
To design its foldable smartphone, Sony would use the same OLED Infinity Flex display that is already available on Samsung's Galaxy Fold. This screen would benefit from a 21:9 ratio, like the Xperia 1 or Xperia 10 Plus announced at MWC 2019. The Japanese firm is obviously not ready to abandon this new elongated format. Like the Mate X or Fold, the Xperia F would be compatible with the 5G. It would be the brand's first smartphone to connect to 5G. In the past, Sony has already ensured that a compatible device was in the boxes.
In the meantime, Sony also intends to unveil the Xperia 2, its new high-end flagship. We can therefore legitimately expect the Japanese brand to launch its folding smartphone as part of the MWC 2020. Sony is indeed a regular at high-tech trade fairs such as MWC or the IFA in Berlin.
Will the Xperia F project enable Sony to make a strong comeback in the smartphone market? As the mobile division is largely loss-making, the Japanese manufacturer has decided to withdraw from many markets around the world. We'll tell you more as soon as possible.
