Introducing Bluboo Dual | Beauty outside, Beast inside
Two days ago, the Bluboo Dual – the latest phablet from Bluboo – arrived at Gearbest. And it's certainly captured our imagination. In this article, we take a closer look at the feature set on offer: camera, specifications, and special functions.
Primary Camera Features
• Excellent Dual Cameras
Bluboo Dual combines dual lenses with two separate sensors, leading to exceptional depth-of-field and clarity. This was confirmed in our test photos. The 13.0MP SONY sensor and wide-angle F2.0 aperture effortlessly captured static images, working well with the 2.0MP subsidiary. Two cameras are certainly far better than one.
• Hardware-level Real-time Blurring
Two cameras capture more light at the same time. This dual setup also learns the different distances of objects. When we shot photos, we could see the blurring effect in real time. Pressing the shutter resulted in a stunning, refined shot.
• 8.0MP Front Camera
Selfie lovers will appreciate the clearer, more vibrant images from the powerful front camera.
• Automatic Optimization
The camera delivers brightness optimizations for a more natural effect. Accurately identifying age and gender, the corresponding enhancements allowed skin to appear more natural.
• Rear Dual Flash
Rear dual LED flash delivered improved images in low-light conditions, even at night, creating bright and rich photography.
• 5.5 inch SHARP FHD Display
With a contrast ratio of 1400:1 and 96% NTSC color saturation, the screen is certainly impressive, providing a vivid canvas and richer colors paired with higher contrasts. Thanks to in-cell technology, the screen is thinner and sharper, making it ideally suited for watching videos, playing games, or photos.
• MediaTek MTK6737T Quad-core 1.5 GHz CPU
We enjoyed both powerhouse performance and smooth multi-tasking at all times. There was never any hint of lag, and overall use was definitely snappy.
• Pure Android 6.0
Efficient, stable, and mature, Android Marshmallow has certainly come of age. Everything was fluid and responsive, with great performance.
• Expandable to 256GB
Packed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage, the Bluboo Dual is one of the few phones that can actually accept a massive 256GB microSD card.
• 3000mAh Battery & 4.35V Battery Core - Long-lasting Performance
The Dual contains a 3000mAh high-capacity battery, which was certainly able to deliver a full day's use on a single charge. Looking deeper, the 4.35V battery core leads to an extra 15% battery capacity compared to normal 4.2V battery core.
Exclusive Unique Features
• Smart Rear Touch ID
There's no password more secure than one's fingerprint. We put the fingerprint sensor to test and the results were near-instant, less than 0.1 second. Accurate and fast, we had no complaints.
• Wet-hand Operation & Glove Mode
The Bluboo Dual is all about attention to detail for an exceptional user experience. The display event accepts actions from people wearing gloves or with wet hands. This was new to some of our testers, so we give two thumbs up!
• Aviation Aluminum Alloy
The premium material and texture combines pleasant aesthetics with a comfortable grip, along with anti-corrosion from sweat.
• Advanced OTG Function
OTG, is short for USB OTG or USB On-The-Go allowing you to connect additional devices to your phone via the micro USB port, e.g. a USB thumb drive, SD card readers, cameras, external hard-drives, and even a mouse or keyboard.
Our review staff came away suitably impressed with Bluboo's latest offering. The blend of reliable powerhouse performance, excellent camera, strong feature set, and premium build quality makes it easy to recommend the Bluboo Dual. However, the real star of the show is the price: just $149.99.
