Xiaomi Hybrid Earphones Pro Overview
Last year, Xiaomi launched the Mi IV in-ear hybrid dynamic earphones with a remarkably low price of just $14.40. However, while the price may have been low, the quality was most certainly not – favorable reviews highlighted the superior materials, precision design, and audio performance.
One year later and Xiaomi has just released a new upgraded version of their bestseller: the Xiaomi In-ear Hybrid Earphones Pro. So what has changed after a year? Let's take a closer look.
The packaging is a seamless continuation of Xiaomi's minimalist design language – an understated yet elegant style that has become its trademark. The drawer-style box is effortless to open; we found the earphones presented inside another plastic case.
Once out of the plastic case, the “1 MODE DESIGN” motif is visible on the cable wire wrapper, to communicate the earphone’s manufacturing origin at Xiaomi's 1 MODE enterprise. This attention to detail was nicely complemented by the three different sizes of ear plugs/caps: XS, S, and L – ensuring a comfortable fit no matter your ear size.
To sum up, the package contents include: Xiaomi earphones, plastic case, three pairs of replacement ear caps, English user manual, silicone cable manager, and an extra storage bag.
In terms of materials and craftsmanship, the Xiaomi In-ear Hybrid Earphones Pro (click here to buy) are unequivocally superior to the last-gen Mi IV In-ear Hybrid Dynamic Earphones (Mi IV in-ear hybrid earphones). Not that the previous generation were bad – they were not, they were certainly impressive – but the Pro versions takes things up a notch. The latest version stands out in terms of the material quality and overall build.
Much of this is due to the aluminum alloy, which looks almost textured. Even the plastic connection between the plug and cable is brushed, adding to the general premium quality – certainly, audiophiles will appreciate these small details which add to the overall listening experience.
The drive-by-wire device is also made of aluminum alloy, and processed to a flawless matte finish that looks pristine. The elastic frosted TPE cable combines durability with flexibility, with a tangle-free design.
The earphones adopt a 45 degree oblique angle for inclined in-ear design, this allows the earphones to conform closely to your ear structure for a closer, more secure fit. Crucially, this delivers noise reduction while also ensuring comfort even during long listening sessions.
The just arrived Xiaomi In-ear Hybrid Earphones Pro are designed with a three-key full metal drive-by-wire system that delivers all the essential functionality: making or receiving a call, muting music, and volume adjustment.
The cable length is an impressive 1.25m (4.1 feet), ideal for running, reading, typing, or whenever your hands are preoccupied.
Xiaomi in-ear hybrid earphones pro adopt the creative “dynamic + balanced armature” drivers, to blend strong and stable bass with vivid audio reproduction. This effect is enhanced using graphene material allowing for even faster sound transmission without any audio distortion. The result? Detail-rich sound and superb clarity. In short, the balanced armature drivers bring audio to life with dynamic realism.
When I connected the earphones to my phone for the first time, and played a song… the highs, mids and lows, were all impressive, underscored by a purity and clarity that one would never expect at this price range.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that Xiaomi’s In-ear Hybrid Earphones Pro are the best earphones I've ever tested. As audio gear, they are excellent, however at under $31, they are simply unbeatable. Discover pure audio and click the link below to get yours!
