Bowers & Wilkins introduces PX7/PX5 noise cancelling headphones and new PI4/PI3 wireless earbuds

Bowers & Wilkins is renewing its range of Bluetooth headsets by unveiling two new products: the PX7 and PX5. The first replaces the Bowers & Wilkins PX, launched in 2017, while the PX5 is a more affordable and supra-aural version (the earpieces rest on the auricle of the ear instead of encompassing it). The English company also unveiled its PI3 and PI4, two pairs of in-ear earphones.

Bowers & Wilkins PX5 and PX7: high-end wireless headsets

First of all, the PX5 and PX7 models are wireless headset headsets with three levels of adaptive noise cancellation. Their design is reasonably sober, with finishes in aluminium, leather and fabric. This is the first headset to feature Qualcomm's aptX Adaptive Bluetooth technology, which enables 24-bit / 48 kHz transmission frequency and reduced latency.

Aesthetically, the models differ relatively little. The materials are similar, as well as the colors available. However, the fact that PX7s are supra-aural makes them larger: 43mm compared to 35mm for PX5s.

Both devices promise an autonomy of 30 hours (PX7) and 25 hours (PX5), quantities more than acceptable for devices of this type. As if that weren't enough, the brand assures that, after a quick charge of 15 minutes, the helmets will have an autonomy of 5 and 3 hours, respectively. Both models have the ability to stop the audio when you lift one of the headphones.

The PX7 and PX5 will be available from next month at £350 and £270, about €395 and €305 at change.

Bowers & Wilkins PI3 and PI4: Bluetooth earbuds for the more sporty

The PI3 and PI4 models, more focused on another type of user, are wireless in-ear sports headphones with active noise cancellation and a more daring aesthetics than their older siblings. In addition, these models are magnetized, and pause audio when joined together.

Both incorporate B&W Dual Speaker technology, i.e. one speaker for bass and one for midrange and treble, plus the aptX Adaptative chip on top models. They promise an autonomy of 8 hours, ensuring 2 hours of use after 15 minutes of charging.

You can find these Bluetooth headsets at £170 (PI3) and £270 (PI4), although the latter are not yet available. In exchange, they would stay at around 192€ and 305€.
