Last year, Huawei was unable to obtain the GMS service certification provided by Google because of the US ban, prompting Huawei to announce its own HMS service certification after launching the Mate 30 series, and by providing more development, it hopes to attract more global developers to join the HMS service ecosystem and keep the size of its application service store AppGallery growing.
According to Huawei, the number of monthly active users of AppGallery has exceeded 400 million, and more than 55000 App sets have been put on the shelves, making it the third largest application service store in the world after Google Play Store and Apple App Store,. It is also available in more than 170 countries around the world, and cooperates with local content in the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East and Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
In contrast to Instant Apps, which is download-free or only needs to download part of the content provided by Google in Play Store, Huawei also announced the addition of Quick Apps (fast app to its AppGallery) design, which allows users to use App content without downloading and installing, so that more mobile phones with less storage capacity can easily experience all kinds of App.
