At the end of June last year, Huawei held the launch of the nova5 series of new products in Wuhan. At the meeting, Huawei not only brought us nova5 series of new products, but also officially released the Kirin 810 chip using 7nm process. Kirin 810 chip relies on the advantage of 7nm process, leaving Qualcomm and other competitors behind. It has been nearly half a year in the twinkling of an eye, what kind of technology will Kirin 820 chip adopt?

According to revelations, for the upcoming upgrade products, Huawei HiSilicon is also prepared to continue to copy this practice, once again leading its competitors in the process for about half a year. The Kirin 820 chip will use the 6nm process and, like the Kirin 810 chip, is a sub-flagship processor with almost no cost limit. It is rumored that the 6nm process will use more EUV layers than the current TSMC N7 + process, which can provide an additional 18% density improvement, and its performance should be better than similar chips such as Snapdragon and MediaTek.

In other aspects, according to the current information, Kirin 820 chip may be upgraded to A77 architecture, GPU may not be too radical, Leonardo da Vinci NPU chip is still expected to be embedded. And considering that Kirin 9905G already has the experience of integrating 5G baseband chips, and this is also a common practice of current 5G mid-end processors, Kirin 820 chips are expected to integrate 5G basebands and support dual-mode 5G networking.

Judging from the revelations, the Kirin 820 chip will be mass produced in the second quarter of this year, but the exact time of shipment is unknown. However, according to the release time of the Kirin 810 chip, the Kirin 820 processor should also be released in late June or early July this year, also launched by Huawei nova7, and then put on the market by models such as Honor 10X.
