Huawei Mate 30 (Pro): All specs data, price and rumors

Huawei has two large smartphone series in its range. The P series is traditionally introduced in spring. Autumn, on the other hand, is reserved for the Mate series, which will be expanded this year with the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro. With both new smartphones the camera stands again in the focus. But Huawei has also screwed on the design.
The latest rumors about the Huawei Mate 30 (Pro)
We may get to see the Mate 30 sooner than we thought. Because Huawei will present its new smartphones on September 19 instead of October. At least that's what the Russian website Hi-tech.Mail.ru reports with reference to the president of Huawei's business software division, Dr. Wang Chenglu.
News about wireless charging has also become known. According to reports, Huawei also accelerated wireless charging. The Mate 30 (Pro) supports charging via Qi with up to 30 watts. That would be twice as fast as with the Huawei Mate 20 (Pro).

Dimensions and display: that's how the Mate 30 differs from its predecessor
So far the reports about the Huawei Mate 30 (Pro) are quite clear. It is certain that the Huawei Mate 30 Pro will be the better equipped model of the series. Here the sources expect a 6.71 inch OLED display with QHD+ resolution. Compared to its 6.39 inch predecessor, the newcomer could grow significantly.
Huawei is also said to have slightly changed the shape of the display. The screen obviously bends even more around the edges than before.
While many manufacturers are steadily reducing the size of the Notch, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro will probably be larger. The first pictures of a front panel show an elongated, albeit narrow Notch with five components left out. Among other things, the 3D camera, which requires more space than a regular front camera, is to be accommodated here. Huawei can make face unlocking safer with a 3D front camera. It scans the user's face much more complexly than a simple camera using various sensors, which in turn contributes to safety.
Apart from the notch, the front consists almost entirely of a display. Like its predecessor, the fingerprint sensor will probably be integrated under the screen again. The back of the Huawei Mate 30 (Pro) is also made of glass. This is necessary to be able to charge the smartphone via induction. On the back there is also one of the biggest design changes compared to its predecessor - the camera.
Camera: Round instead of angular?
Huawei is known for its good camera smartphones. While earlier generations of smartphones focused on features such as low-light recording and a lossless zoom, the manufacturer has reported that the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro will concentrate on the video function. This would allow Huawei to finally catch up with the competition in the video sector.
For example, the Dutch blog LetsGoDigital reports that one of the four lenses of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro will be exclusively responsible for video recording. The manufacturer is also said to have secured the names "Cine Lens" and "Cine Matrix". This is exciting inasmuch as the video lenses have other characteristics than classic photo lenses. Thus, the focal point of the video lens remains sharp even when the user zooms in or out of the subject.
While the cameras of the Huawei Mate 20 (Pro) were still arranged in a square, the Mate 30 (Pro) obviously gets a round design. The round camera bezel is clearly visible on a picture currently passing through the net. Slashleaks has discovered photos of shell manufacturers who are supposed to show covers for the upcoming Mate generation.
The arrangement of the camera, however, looks a bit strange. We already know the circular bezel and the square arranged sensors from earlier pictures. But the product photos show an additional element that is uncoupled from the actual camera. Apparently Huawei arranges three of the four sensors as well as the flash in the round module of the Mate 30 (Pro). The fourth sensor, apparently the ToF sensor, is located on the left outer edge of the back.
Huawei is said to have opted for the following combination of camera sensors: According to the current status, there are two sensors with 40 megapixels each. The third sensor with telephoto lens, on the other hand, has a resolution of 8 megapixels. The fourth sensor is the ToF sensor already mentioned.
Technical equipment of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro
In the new Mate models, a new Kirin processor typically celebrates its premiere. As a successor of the current Kirin 980 the Kirin 990 could be used for the first time. Due to its 7-nanometer production, the chip is obviously not only very compact. The new EUV process (extreme ultraviolet light) should also make it more densely occupied than before. According to reports, the higher transistor density leads to an increase in performance of up to 20 percent. Another special feature is the built-in 5G module of the Kirin 990.
Huawei will probably equip the Mate 30 with 4 or 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. The Pro model will probably be slightly more powerful with 6 GB or 8 GB and up to 512 GB of memory. In both cases, the memory can be expanded using the Huawei Nanomemory Card (NM-Card).
In addition, according to the latest leaks, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro will have a 4500mAh battery, which is 300mAh larger than its predecessor Huawei Mate 20 Pro. According to information provided by FCC, the Mate 30 Series can be used with CP61 wireless chargers for up to 30W wireless fast charging (or possibly 25W).
Will the Mate 30 Pro be more expensive than the predecessor?
At 999 euros, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro was already one of the most expensive smartphones. But maybe the successor will be even more expensive. Because a video lens costs more than a classic photo lens and could make the price skyrocket.
