Between July and September, more than 4.5 million smart speakers were exported to Europe, an increase of 36.6% over the same period last year, accounting for 19% of total shipments of smart home products. Among them, video entertainment products are still the largest product category, accounting for more than half of the market share, reaching 58.2%, a total of 13.8 million units.
Antonio Arantes, a senior research analyst for smart home devices in Western Europe, said that in the third quarter of 2019, the CEE smart home market grew 51% compared with the same period last year, with smart speakers growing the fastest, with Google and Amazon as the leading suppliers. It is predicted that in the next five years, the size of the European smart home market will reach 185.9 million units in 2023, with a compound annual growth rate of 14.5% (CAGR). In addition, lighting, home safety monitoring and thermostats will account for 29.5% of the smart home market in 2023, with a number of 55 million.
