Intel has unveiled its new 10th generation Comet Lake processors for laptops and tablets. The US-based manufacturer will come up with 8 different processor models in the new Comet Lake series.

Intel continues to work on new technologies in spite of the pressures of AMD, and now introduces new 10th generation processors. Intel's 10th generation Comet Lake processors, laptops and two-in-one tablets will be presented as the "U" and "Y" series. Intel's Comet Lake series has 8 different processor models.

The Comet Lake processors announced by the company are installed on a 14 nm base. Moreover, the Comet Lake series features the company's previously developed Skylake architecture and Gen 9.5 graphics system. The company's 10th generation Ice Lake processors are built on a 10 nm base and come with a Gen 11 graphics system. In this context, Intel's 10th generation processors can be said to be a little confusing.

We can overcome such confusion by explaining Intel's logic. Intel is aiming for gaming and everyday use on the Ice Lake series processors. The new Comet Lake series, announced by the company, targets more power-intensive video editing and multitasking. Now let's take a closer look at the features and differences of the Comet Lake series processors.

According to this table, Intel's U series processors developed for laptops can offer support from 2 cores to 6 cores. The Intel Core i7-10710U, the highest-level product in the series, can reach 4.7 GHz with its 6-core structure.

Intel's Y-series processors for two-in-one computers have a slightly more limited capacity. The Intel Core i7-10510Y, the highest level product of Intel's Y series processors, can reach 4.5 GHz with its 4-core and 8-threaded structure.

Intel says the Comet Lake processors offer better performance than the previous series. Intel's U-series processors are 16% better than the previous series, and their efficiency has increased by 41%.

In addition, Intel's 10th generation Comet Lake series processors deliver twice as much in office applications, 2.5 times in photo editing applications and 3 times better in Wi-Fi connections.
