Intel i9-9900KS and Casacage Lake- X HEDT comes in October

By  Sigismondo Eisenhower 2019-09-05 710 0

During the IFA, Intel has confirmed that Intel Core i9-9900KS processor will be launched in October. This new processor will reach 5.00 GHz in the 8 cores simultaneously and all of it air-cooled.

Core i9-9900KS processor

Much is already known about the Core i9-9900KS processor: Intel first talked about this model at Computex 2019 in May. And already then it was clear that it, as well as usual Core i9-9900K, will possess 8 cores with support of technology Hyper-Threading, but will receive the raised clock frequencies.

So, at full multithreaded loading Core i9-9900KS should support frequency of 5,0 GHz while for Core i9-9900K such frequency - a maximum reached exclusively at single-threaded loading in a turbo-mode. Taking into account that the Core i9-9900KS will be based on the same 14nm process and Coffee Lake Refresh design, it is obvious that Intel has organized the procedure of selection of the most successful semiconductor crystals to produce such chips.

It doesn't give any idea whether the Core i9-9900KS will be able to fit into the 95-watt thermal package, but during the live demonstration this processor was working with a closed-loop Corsair company with a 240-mm radiator.

Information shared by Intel confirms that the processor will be available next month, and the Cascade Lake-X processor is said to perform much better per dollar than the Skylake-X and AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors. Compared to Intel's Skylake-X benchmark, the performance of the Cascade Lake-X processor is 1.74x to 2.09x per dollar. This is also better than the Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX flagship 32 core, Threadripper 2970WX 24 core and Ryzen Threadripper 2950X 16 core processor.
