Apple has been working on a full-glass iPhone with a surround touch screen, according to a new patent discovered by Apple insider. The patent is called "electronic equipment with a glass shell". The US patent number is 20200057525, and the patent includes the appearance of the object.
In the patent, Apple describes how multiple pieces of glass are put together to make it look like a whole piece of glass. Apple uses several separate pieces of glass as the front, back and side of the shell to make it visually and tactile seamless, as if it were made up of a whole piece of glass, according to the description. In fact, it is formed by a number of separate pieces of glass connected together.
As a screen made up of several separate pieces of glass, Apple defines one of the screens as the "primary display" to display applications, games and other information, while the other monitors will display some minor information. "the physical difference between the front, back, and side of the glass housing may indicate the functional difference between the touchscreen or the display area." This is what the patent says.
It is worth mentioning that Apple applies for a large number of patents every year, and these patents may be rarely used in products. Therefore, it is uncertain whether Apple will launch a phone such as a patent display.
