Pocophone F2 (POCO F2) is still on the way but may not come until the mid-2020

By  Goraud Mazanec 2019-08-01 647 0

When the Chinese company Xiaomi announced the Poco F1 smartphone, it was the most affordable model based on the Snapdragon 845 chip. The new brand quickly gained popularity due to this. At the beginning of this year Redmi became an independent brand. Previously, smartphones manufactured under the Redmi brand were considered to be one of the best in terms of price/performance ratio. Analysts assumed that the manufacturer would give up the Poco brand, focusing on the production of Redmi smartphones. However, a representative of POCO denied the rumors on the Twitter.

Through an interview offered to 91mobiles that has been published in Twitter, one of the representatives of POCO wanted to explain the current situation of the company. In the video, they specify that POCO is an independent firm of Xiaomi, and is not associated with Xiaomi's Mi and Redmi brands. He also explains that POCO has access to Xiaomi's logistics and support services, but that they have their own strategy.

And this is precisely where the "less good" news is specified. The POCO representative says that the team that makes up the company is still very small to this day, and suggests that we will have to wait until mid-2020 to see a new device from the brand. On a positive note, the team is focused on continuing to improve the current POCO F1, which we analyzed at the time, through new software updates.

In short, although the last few weeks have sowed uncertainty about the future of POCO, due to the statements of some analysts and the departure of the company's leader, everything points to POCO being more alive than ever, although the fact of being a new company is going to force them to launch their new device a little later than we would like.
