Huawei leads the Chinese smartphone market with a market share of 38.5 per cent, followed by OPPO (17.8 per cent), vivo (17.0 per cent), Xiaomi (10.5 per cent) and Apple (7.5 per cent), according to the report. These brands occupy more than 90% of the market share, and the market share of other brands is extremely compressed, making it extremely difficult to survive.
In terms of sales, Huawei still takes the lead, selling 142 million units in 2019, up 35.5% from last year. Other brands have seen varying degrees of decline in sales, with OPPO down 17% in vivo, 19% in vivo and 21% in Apple. It is worth mentioning that in 2019, sales of smartphones in China were close to 369 million, down 7% from the same period last year. In this case, Huawei bucked the trend and rose, indicating its strength.
