Revolt RV400: 125CC electric motorcycle with a range of about 160 KM

As India is a country where people are used to travelling by motorcycle, it is only natural that local authorities have adopted specific legal provisions for two-wheeled electric vehicles in order to better protect the environment. By announcing the RV400, the Indian start-up Revolt confirms this rather peculiar reality of the second most populous country in the world after China.
As indicated above, this is a motorcycle in the 125 cc category. Its particularity lies in the fact that instead of adopting a combustion engine, it incorporates an electric motorization.
The Revolt RV400 is designed for urban use, but can also be used on a small road thanks to its relatively high top speed.
A range of about 160 km
Regarding its speed, Revolt's new electric motorcycle is capable of travelling at 85 km/h, while the announced range is 156 km. In order to increase the RV400's already impressive range, the manufacturer is currently working on setting up a battery exchange network. This concept will allow users to exchange a nearly depleted battery for a freshly charged pack while on the move.
In terms of functionality, several connected options are available. These include keyless start, GPS and geofencing tracking, and storage space for data backup. The Revolt RV400 will also offer a telemetry function for remote monitoring of vital functions.
The absence of engine noise on electric vehicles can be dangerous, especially for pedestrians. Revolt's electric motorcycle will thus offer four synthesized engine sounds. In this way, the company hopes to be able to alert people in the vicinity of the presence of an electric vehicle.
A selling price of less than $2,000
Revolt has not yet provided all the details of the RV400, so we do not know the power of the engine.
However, the Electrek.co website estimates that it is between 6 and 10 kW. The tariff was also not disclosed. Nevertheless, analysts are looking at a final price between 1300 and 1800 dollars. The RV400 Revolt will initially be sold in India, but international marketing is expected given the cost and performance of the product.
