Stop technical support! Some HTC smart fitness devices are losing their "intelligence"

The app will stop running completely on March 31 to prevent these devices from synchronizing their data in a few cases. The company encourages users to export data to MapMyFitness App if they still rely on third-party records to track their workouts. However, the app misses a lot of data, including steps, sleep tracking, weight and resting heart rate. Awkwardly, these features are at the heart of UA's older devices.
Under Armour actually abandoned devices in the Healthbox ecosystem in 2017 and turned its attention to products such as HOVR smart shoes and headphones. However, the company does not give its users any warning, let alone offer alternative solutions. It is also a reminder that cloud-dependent smart devices are "smart" only if the services behind them are still running, and if the host shuts down these services, they will lose most of their functionality.
