American manufacturer Segway, now owned by Chinese company Ninebot, presented a prototype of a futuristic vehicle called S-Pod for CES 2020, which will be held from January 3 to 10 in Las Vegas.
The electric S-Pod looks like something in between Professor X's chair and a chariot without horses. According to the developers, such a vehicle can reach a speed of 40 km / h. It weighs a lot - 150 kg. You can drive up to 70 km on one battery charge.
S-Pod uses Segway's traditional balance preservation technology for gyroscooters. But unlike conventional Segway gyros, it is not controlled by the tilt of the user's body, but by a small joystick located to the right of the seat.
The final version of the S-Pod should debut in 2020, and sales are scheduled for 2021. The price is not disclosed yet.
