Xiaomi Mi 9S 5G smartphone will come with Snapdragon 855 Plus chip and larger battery than Mi 9

Some manufacturers are opting to release different versions of their models, and it appears that Xiaomi will be one of them. A couple of times a new Xiaomi 5G phone has already been filtered on the way to market, which would be the second one after the Mi MIX 3 5G that arrived at the beginning of the year, and could be the Xiaomi Mi 9. Because almost everything inside, the filtered until now, is identical. Except for the battery and the processor, of course.

Maybe a Xiaomi Mi 9 5G, or maybe a Xiaomi Mi 9 Plus or Mi 9 Pro, with two very fashionable surnames and already used by the Chinese manufacturer before. Although the filtered name seems to indicate that it will be the Mi 9S 5G, for lack of confirmation. And the reason is that many of the filtered features match the current ones.

Like the fact that this future phone looks like it will have a 6.39 inch FullHD+ screen and a 'notch' at the top to house the front camera, which will be 20 megapixels. Or as the triple rear camera with 48 megapixels of main sensor and one of them for optical zoom, with two magnifications. Even the fingerprint reader embedded in the panel, although this is already a standard in today's market.

There are changes, however, with respect to the current Xiaomi Mi 9. One of them is that this future Xiaomi 5G has the Snapdragon 855+ on board, Qualcomm's latest processor, a vitaminized Snapdragon 855 with more clock speed in both CPU and graphics, and greater ability to process artificial intelligence code. Another change is that the battery would be 4,000 mAh, and not 3,300 mAh like the Mi 9's current battery.

Although of course, the presence of 5G is already enough change to differentiate the two terminals. So yes, everything points to a more powerful Mi 9 with 5G called Mi 9S 5G, following the pattern of names that Xiaomi already used for the 5G version of its Mi Mix 3.

The Xiaomi Mi 9S 5G smartphone is expected to be priced at about 3599 yuan (about $506), and the 12+512GB edition will be priced at about 4499 yuan (about $632).
