Xiaomi Redmi 8 was announced with 5,000 mAh and dual camera

As the giant has suggested in some teasers, one of the highlights of the new smartphone is the wide capacity of its 5,000 mAh battery, with fast charging support. Another aspect now confirmed is that the handset has a pair of rear cameras of 12 MP and 2 MP. See more details of the new model.
The Redmi 8 arrives in Indian stores with several new features compared to its predecessor, Redmi 7, especially regarding performance and battery. Its design has also undergone some changes, and has now gained smoother contours and rounded-back sides, which should improve the “grip” of the handset.
Screen, storage and battery
The smartphone has a 6.2 '' HD + resolution IPS LCD screen (720 X 1520 pixels), 19: 9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Its back is made of plastic and nano P2i coating, which guarantees resistance to water splash. In the same area is still your physical fingerprint sensor.
According to rumors, the phone is equipped with Qualcomm Snpadragon 439 processor, the same used in the relative Redmi 8A. It also displays two memory configurations: 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM, with 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage respectively.
As said, the handset has expanded its battery capacity from 4,000 mAh to 5,000 mAh. In addition, it supports fast 18 W charging via USB-C cable.
Also expected, the Xiaomi Redmi 8 features a pair of rear sensors: a 12MP Sony IMX363 (f / 1.8 aperture and autofocus) and a 2MP depth-specific one. The camera suite offers 33 AI-based scene detection options and support for Google Lens. Already the 8 MP front sensor, features intelligent selfie mode and face unlocking system.
Launch and price
Redmi 8 will be found in three color options: blue (Sapphire Blue), red (Reby Red) and black (Onyx Black). However, on the official Indian website of Xiaomi there is a green variant (Emerald Green), which has not yet been confirmed for other international markets.
In the country, the mobile will have price variation according to configuration options: 3 GB / 32 GB for 7,999 rupees (about R $ 461 in direct conversion); 4 GB / 64 GB for 8,999 rupees (about R $ 519 for direct conversion). The launch in the Indian market is scheduled for October 16. There is no forecast of sales and values in other countries.
