Xiaomi will present a Mi Mix Alpha with waterfall screen instead of the Mi Mix 4

Xiaomi confirmed a press conference for September 24. It will be dedicated, among other things, to the presentation of two smartphones: the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G on the one hand, but also a Mi Mix Alpha instead of the Mi Mix 4. Xiaomi has just teased the announcement of the device through a post published on his Weibo account with a visual that raises a corner of veil on the design of the smartphone.

Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha: 5G and a very curved screen

The teaser poster shared by Xiaomi reveals an extremely curved screen. The Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha has a waterfall display like the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and the Vivo Nex 3. This last trend is certainly not by chance and this type of display could become the new design standard in the high-end segment, especially since Samsung recently filed a patent for a smartphone with this feature, in addition to having an expandable display.

As for the features, the Mi Mix 4 was announced with a Snapdragon 855+ and therefore compatible with 5G like the Mi Mix Alpha from the teaser. The smartphone should also include a 108 MP photo sensor, a 90 Hz display and a 40 W fast charge. The RAM memory will be 12 GB, with a storage capacity of up to 1 TB. Finally, as can be seen in one of the images, the smartphone does not have a notch, which means that the selfie camera will be housed in a retractable module as on the current Mi Mix 3.
