Huawei Mate 30 Series Released: 5G Version + the Best Top-performing Quad-Camera Smartphones

Apart from supporting 5G, Huawei Mate 30 Series offers improvement in various aspects, including the camera performance.

There are many new smartphones worth expecting for the latter half of the year. After the launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Series and iPhone 11 Series, Huawei Mate 30 Series was unveiled.

Huawei officially introduced Mate 30 Series, this year’s flagship for Mate Series, along with Huawei GT Watch 2 and Smart Screen on the evening of Sept. 19, in Munich, Germany.

Let’s go into more details of the new smartphone.

Huawei Mate 30 Series supports 5G and offers a better camera module

There are three smartphones in Mate 30 Series, including Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, and Mate 30 RS featuring Porsche Design. Their prices are as follows: Mate 30 (8GB+128GB), €799; Mate 30 Pro (8GB+256GB), €1099; Mate 30 Pro 5G (8GB+256GB), €1199; Mate 30 RS (12GB+512GB), €2095.

The highlight of the front is the screen. Similar to the recently launched Vivo NEX 3 Series, Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 RS smartphones feature an ultra-curved display, with 88-degree curved edges on both sides.

The edges are almost perpendicular, which means the elimination of traditional bezels on the left and right.

Meanwhile, the physical volume rocker is removed except the on/off button. The virtual volume control buttons can be activated by tapping the edges of the screen twice, to turn up/down the volume.

Different from Vivo NEX 3 Series, Mate 30 Pro still has a notch for the 3D depth sensor. In other words, Huawei made a compromise between the functionality and ultimate visual impact by choosing the former.

However, the notch of Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro is much smaller, with the innovative use of electromagnetic levitation to vibrate instead of the traditional receiver. It is even narrower than that of iPhone 11 Pro Max.

In terms of specifications, Mate 30 has a 6.62-inch screen with 2340x1080P resolution; the display of Mate 30 Pro is slightly smaller, 6.53-inch, with 2400x1176 resolution. What’s worth mentioning is the upper bezel is exceptionally narrow: that of Mate 30 is 4mm, that of Mate 30 Pro is 4.2mm.

The rear camera module has been significantly improved, which looks the same as in the disclosed photos. The round camera module is inspired by the professional camera lens. It is proved that the camera performance of the Mate 30 Series is enhanced.

Triple rear Leica camera on the rear includes a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens (f/2.2), a 40MP wide-angle lens (f/1.8), and an 8MP telephoto lens (f/2.4) which supports OIS.

Mate 30 Pro is even more advanced, with quad Leica camera, including a 40MP ultra-wide-angle lens (f/1.8), a 40MP wide-angle lens (f/1.6) which supports OIS, an 8MP telephoto lens (f/2.4) which also supports OIS image stabilization and a 3D depth sensor.

Although both primary cameras are 40MP, their specific functions are different. The camera which supports OIS is mainly for recording videos; the other primary camera is dedicated to photography.

The core configuration is as expected because when Huawei released Kirin 990 SoC, it announced that the chipset would apply to Mate 30 Series.

In general, the support for 5G network, more powerful AI computing, and enhanced camera performance are the highlights of the Kirin 990 SoC.

It is noteworthy that Mate 30 Pro 5G features excellent 5G network connectivity, with up to 21 antenna modules inside the smartphone. Among them, a total of 14 supports 5G. The number is much higher than any other 5G smartphones on the market

It means that even though the 5G network connection is not stable now, Mate 30 Pro 5G can still provide you with satisfying 5G experience.

Additionally, the battery capacity of Mate 30 is 4200mAh, that of Mate 30 Pr0 is 4500mAh. Both smartphones support 27W quick wireless charge and 40W wired quick charge. Like their predecessors, they also have the reverse charging function.

What’s more, Mate 30 is IP53 waterproof, while Mate 30 Pro is IP68 waterproof.

As for the colors, Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro smartphones are available in Emerald Green, Space Silver, and Cosmic Purple, Black. There are also two variants made from vegan leather in Forest Green and Orange.

The new Mate 30 Series mark significant improvements in appearance, configuration, connectivity, and camera performance.

Mate 30 Series will be available on Gearbest soon. Stay tuned with us for more specific information of the Mate 30 Series!
