Huawei Mate 30 Pro & Vivo NEX 2 Unveiled with Round Camera Module & Waterfall Screen: Which One Would You Choose?

Huawei Mate 30 Pro & Vivo NEX 2 Unveiled with Round Camera Module & Waterfall Screen: Which One Would You Choose?

Yesterday, a Chinese digital blogger unveiled a photo of the protective shell of Huawei Mate 30 Pro, which is consistent with the previous transparent protective shell.

It includes the round module on the back and the unwrapped edge design on both sides (referred to as "waterfall screen").

It is not easy to know what Huawei Mate 30 Pro looks like from the two pictures above.

However, Slashleaks exposed a rendering of Mate 30 Pro. The rendering fits perfectly with the previously disclosed screen protector and phone case.

It has a circular camera module in the middle of the back, which looks retro, somewhat similar to Nokia. However, the module harmonizes with the new elements of Huawei, accentuating the texture.

It is weird that in the middle of the back, there is a separate module on the left. Perhaps it is a ToF sensor. If so, it is not an ideal solution to separate it from the large main camera module.

On the front, the Mate 30 Pro features a "waterfall screen." A waterfall screen refers to the giant curved screen, which will be fashionable later. The most significant feature is that the curvature is close to the right angle, and both the left and right side of the screen look like a waterfall. In this way, the phone case won't have edges, and the phone will be exposed.

Apart from Huawei Mate 30 Pro, OPPO, Vivo, and other flagships will also use a similar "waterfall screen."

On August 15, the mysterious Vivo NEX 2 was also revealed.

Likewise, the new Vivo NEX 2 also features a waterfall screen.

The new generation, Vivo NEX 2 has eliminated the notch and punch-hole. The full screen looks stunning.

Since no camera was found on the front, Vivo NEX 2 likely uses a pop-up camera module. According to previous news, Vivo has solved the problem of the "screen-door effect." The new Vivo NEX generation will show up with this new technology. Of course, it is still possible that the new NEX 2 will continue to use the pop-up module.

It is worth noting that Vivo NEX 2 has triple rear cameras. The mechanical watch inspires the design.

In terms of configuration, there is no doubt that Vivo NEX 2 is powered by the flagship SoC of Qualcomm. It is because when Qualcomm launched Snapdragon 855 Plus, Vivo officially confirmed that the use of the chipset.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Huawei Mate 30 Series will use 25W quick wireless charge. As for the battery capacity, Mate Series is always above 4000mAh, so that of Huawei Mate 30 Series won't lower than 4000mAh.

The launch date of Huawei Mate 30 Series is expected to be earlier than September 19. By then,  Kirin 990 processor (on German IFA) will be debuted, with pre-installed EMUI 10 system. The latest Vivo NEX 2 will make its first public appearance next month.

So, which one would you choose, Huawei Mate 30 Pro or Vivo NEX 2 which feature the same camera and waterfall screen?
