Inside the box you will find the following components – it is the smartphone itself in a protective film, a business card with the gratitude of the purchase, documentation, a Type-C charging cable, and a power adapter.

Cubot Quest: Design

In our test, Cubot Quest is a combination of black with red elements that are very attractive in appearance.

The front is dominated by a large 5.5-inch display with an 18: 9 aspect ratio. At the top of the screen is a front-facing camera, a notification LED indicator and light/distance sensors.

The Cubot Quest back panel in our analisis looks really good. In the middle, you can see engraved sports (running, cycling, swimming), so it is clear that this smartphone is for an active lifestyle. On the one hand, Cubot Quest is beautiful and elegant, but on the other hand, it is durable and stable.

In the upper part, in a specially protected frame, there is a dual main camera and a dual LED flash. Just below is a fingerprint scanner.

At the bottom, we see the company logo, and in the lower left corner is the speaker.

Since the smartphone is waterproof and dustproof in accordance with the IP68 certificate, it is resistant to shock, drops, and scratches, and can also operate at temperatures from -20 to +55 degrees Celsius.

The rest of the body is made of slightly rubberized plastic and therefore is impact resistant. Even the metal frame is rubberized.

On the left side, there is a slot for nanoSIM and microSD cards just below is a special button that can be programmed separately (by default it activates the camera, a long press of Google Voice Search).

A USB Type-C port and microphone were placed on the bottom.

On the right are the keys for the volume rocker, as well as the power button.

Cubot Quest has dimensions of 157 x 73.7 x 8.8 mm and weighs 214.9 grams. This is a rugged smartphone that will delight you with a surprisingly thin and elegant appearance.

Cubot Quest: Screen

Cubot Quest has a standard screen with a diagonal of 5.5 inches and an aspect ratio of 18: 9, and the resolution of HD was + 720 x 1440 pixels (293 ppi).

The icons and letters are clear, and the colors are clear and clean. The screen responds well to touch even through the protective film on the screen. In addition, the screen has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Also note that it is sensitive to simultaneous 5-point touch (multitouch), takes 90% of NTSC color and has a contrast of 1300: 1.

As for the brightness of the screen, we measured it with the help of our measuring device, and we got a result of 952 lux. Therefore, the brightness will be enough in any conditions, even on a very sunny day.

Cubot Quest: Hardware and performance

So Cubot Quest has the new MT6762 8-core MediaTek processor, known as the Helio P22. It is built on new 12-nanometer technology. Responsible for the graphics PowerVR GE8320 Happiness 650 MHz. Also at your disposal 4GB LPDDR3 RAM (one channel up to 933 MHz) and 64GB of internal memory. Yes, you can expand the memory with a microSD memory card up to 128GB. Cubot Quest is fast with this combination of hardware.

As for real life, PUBG Mobile works very smoothly, the heating of the device is low, but the graphics settings are minimal. This smartphone is not intended for games, but if you want to play hard games, then Cubot Quest can handle it at the minimum graphics settings.

Cubot Quest: Software

Obviously, the company decided to install only basic applications in the operating system in order to have more space for your user data.

Cubot Quest works on Android 9.0 Pie operating system, which naturally supports multilingual languages.

During testing, there were no any problems or slowdowns.

Cubot Quest: Cameras

The manufacturer has installed a good camera for Cubot Quest. Namely, these are the same cameras as Cubot Max 2 smartphone.

The main dual 12-megapixel and a 2-megapixel camera with a Sony IMX486 sensor and a 6-component lens, as well as an f/1.8 aperture.

Therefore, it will take very good photos under any shooting conditions. Also installed dual LED flash and phase autofocus (PDAF). The camera supports face detection, HDR, panorama and can record the effect of bokeh, and also has a special night mode.

The front 8-megapixel camera has a 4-component lens and an f/2.2 aperture. The camera supports face recognition, and can also take mono photos (black and white).

Of course, it also supports unlocking the device, defining the person that you set in Settings.

Surprisingly, the front camera can also record video in Full HD with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at a speed of 30 frames per second in MP4 format. The rear camera shoots Full HD video with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 30 frames per second, also in MP4 format.

Cubot Quest: Sound

The sound is very good, it has the power, quality, and depth. The speaker is located at the back in the lower left corner. We tested the sound in music, video, and games, and we were pleased with what we heard.

Cubot Quest: Communication

The smartphone supports 4G LTE + VoLTE (on both cards), but the quality of conversations is average.

The phone also supports a hybrid card slot. That is, you can choose either dual nanoSIM cards or one nanoSIM card and one microSD memory card.

The Cubot Quest also supports NFC for contactless payments.

During GPS testing, we detected 25 satellites (9 actives) with an accuracy of 6 meters.

Cubot Quest: Battery

The Cubot Quest smartphone is equipped with a 4000 mAh non-removable lithium polymer battery that supports fast charging (5V/2A). In our case, from 0 to 100% was 2.5 hours for full charging.

When the screen is illuminated by 50%, battery autonomy was 13 hours and 45 minutes. The durability of the work will be quite good.

Cubot Quest: Conclusions

The Cubot Quest has got a very good appearance, which is becoming an increasingly important feature for rugged smartphones. First and foremost, Quest is designed for people who often spend time in nature, in the mountains, at sports activities such as swimming, skiing or cycling.

It has well-balanced equipment, which ensures fast and smooth operation, and the autonomy of work is one of the most powerful features.
The disadvantages include HD screen resolution and the lack of a 3.5 mm audio jack. But given the price – these are minor flaws.
