Ortur Laser Master 2 vs EleksLaser A3 Pro Laser Engraving Machine, Which is Your Best Choice?

Ortur Laser Master 2 vs EleksLaser A3 Pro Laser Engraving Machine, Which is Your Best Choice?

The innovation of the laser engraving machine has changed the engraving industry. With the guidance of computer, engraving a plethora of materials with high precision is now possible.

The verse usability of laser machines in engraving and cutting is a great advantage. Patterns and adopted design can easily be engraved or cut out in the nick of time as prototypes or large production with precision leaving out much error of dissimilarities in the production runs.

Activities are highest in the laser engraving machine development sector now more than ever. The direct implication of this is the tons of options and the resulting customers’ dilemma in choosing the best. Fortunately, we have saved you from this stress, thanks to our two well-thought expert picks below;

-The Ortur Laser Master 2, and

- EleksLaser A3 Pro laser engraving machines

Using The Ortur Laser Master 2 and EleksLaser A3 Pro laser engraving machines is a piece of cake, either you are an expert or a novice. Are you probably wondering the better pick out of the two? Well, we are about to find out together. So, read on!

Let’s start by taking a look at the general specification of both the Ortur Laser Master 2 (15W) and the EleksLaser A3 Pro (2.5W) laser machines

Specification comparison

The power consumption, build material, and size of both products are pretty not much of a difference that sets them apart, but some striking differences are worth pointing out, as you will see below.

600.0 x 460.0 x 180.0 mm

1. The Ortur Laser Master 2 has a higher 15W power and can process 32 instructions accurately in a shorter time as compared to the EleksLaser- A3 Pro (2.5W) that has a lower strength of 2.5W and handles 8 instructions at a lesser speed and accuracy.

2. The Ortur Laser Master 2 supports a higher baud rate as high as 921600.

It helps to reduce the delay time resulting from the transmission of instruction and thus, speeds up engraving time up to three times faster than it would take for EleksLaser- A3 Pro (2.5W) that does not support such high baud rate.

3. The Ortur Laser Master 2 has a high electrical and optical power of 15W and 4,5W, respectively.

Owing to this, it requires no heat dissipation time during continuous engraving as needed by EleksLaser A3 Pro that has a laser power of 2.5W and gives it the capacity to also cut through density materials as thick as stainless steel.

Here is a bit about the software: the Ortur Laser Master 2 works with LaserGRBL and LightBurn.

The LaserGRBL is free and the most popular open-source software used for laser engraving. It supports major image formats and can also edit in Photoshop, Inkscape, CAD, and send the edited image to the machine. LightBurn is a paid software but works on all three operating systems.

Conversely, the EleksLaser-A3 Pro, EleksCam, is the only compatible engraving software that comes with built-in engraving machine parameters. Still, the function is not as powerful as LaserGRBL software, and the user base is relatively small.

Another point worthy of note is the safety of the machines. Using the Ortur Laser Master 2 is safer, thanks to the inbuilt precautionary measures.  However, the EleksLaser A3 offers nothing in this regard.

What are these safety measures, as seen in Ortur Laser Master 2?

- The laser stops when irregular movement is sensed.

- There is a dedicated laser beam safety guard that prevents fire caused by continuous emission of the beam.

- There is an inbuilt exposure limit function that turns of the laser after some set seconds when not in use.

Let’s round up with the price. The price of both items varies with a significant margin. The Ortur Laser Master 2 and EleksLaser A3 Pro goes for $ 189.99 and $ 199.99- $236.99, respectively.

So, from all indications, the Ortur Laser Master 2 is cheaper, easy to assemble, operate, and safer to use with higher accuracy. If you are looking for a winner, you have one in the Ortur Laser Master 2.  You get maximum value for every penny paid on this machine, which in any case, is higher than what you get from the EleksLaser A3 Pro.
