Xiaomi M365 vs Ninebot ES2: Design

The design of the Xiaomi M365 and Ninebot ES2 shows a clear distinction in several aspects. The Segway Ninebot ES2 comes with solid tires and the addition of front and rear shock absorbers. The solid tires make for a terrible ride, but the suspension works to mitigate the effect. 

The inflatable tires, afforded in the Xiaomi M365 makes for an overall smooth ride. However, the lack of suspension may be a big turn off here. 

The fold mechanism between the steering bar and footstep in both Xiaomi M365 and Ninebot ES2 permits both scooters to be folded in a matter of seconds. 

When they are folded, the Xiaomi M365 with 106cm length is shorter than the Ninebot ES2 of 113cm. Also, the M365 is much higher at 48 cm compared to the 40 cm ES2. 

The Xiaomi M365 is made with a much thinner bar, with the battery been placed below the footstep, while the Ninebot ES bar is thicker and designed to hold the battery.

The handling of both scooters is easy as all that is needed for effective handling has been carefully placed at the right place, from the brake lever on the left to the accelerator on the right and the power button in the middle.

The Segway ES2 is more responsive in acceleration compared to the Xiaomi M365. However, they don’t push up hills much as expected, and they also require some assistance on steeper ones. 

The M365 with a rear disk brake and a front electronic brake with regeneration make for a better braking system. Although the ES2 is stacked with a front electronic brake, the rear brake falls short in the class.

Xiaomi M365 vs Ninebot ES2: Battery and Charging

The Xiaomi M365 battery is rated at 280Wh, giving a 30km range, whereas the Segway Ninebot ES2 has a 187Wh battery rating, which produces a 25km range. The ES2 also has an option for an external battery

It takes the Segway ES2 about three and a half to four hours to charge fully, whereas the Xiaomi M365 gulps down a whopping five and a half to six hours of charging time.

The Xiaomi M365 and Segway Ninebot ES2 go for closely the same price tag. These top of the class e-scooters is worth the price tag. The Xiaomi M365 costs $339.99, which is slightly cheaper than the Ninebot ES2 at $399.99
