Huawei MatePad Pro: the First Tablet with Hole-punch Display and Kirin 990 Processor

On November 25th, Huawei held a press conference in Shanghai and officially released a new generation of tablet MatePad Pro. Other than naming the tablet from the previous MediaPad to MatePad, Huawei also conducted a lot of attempts on the product improvements and usage scenarios. Let's take a look together.

Huawei MatePad Pro is equipped with a 10.8-inch "hole-punch display". The four bezels are very narrow, which makes its screen ratio reach 90% at an excellent level. In other aspects, MatePad Pro has a resolution of 2560x1600, 280 PPI, 96% NTSC color gamut, 540nit brightness, and support Huawei's exclusive "sharp screen" display enhancement technology.

On the core hardware configuration, Huawei MatePad Pro is equipped with Kirin 990 SoC processor. There are 6 different versions available, which are 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 8GB + 512GB (colored with Danxia Orange or Qingshan Blue).

Besides, the battery capacity is 7250mAh, which supports 40W wired fast charging, 15W wireless charging and 7.5W wireless reverse charging.

This time along with Huawei MatePad, Huawei also released a new M-Pencil stylus and an integrated smart magnetic keyboard.

The new M-Pencil stylus has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, the delay is controlled at 20ms, and supports side-tip writing and magnetic charging; the keyboard supports two angles for vertical or horizontal tablet-supporting, the keystroke is 1.3mm, and it is connected to the tablet via Bluetooth, which could be charged magnetically as well.

Unlike most other tablets, Huawei MatePad focuses on the multi-screen collaboration function, which takes the usage integration of mobile phone and the tablet to the next level.

Now, you can "screen mirroring" your phone screen to the tablet in an easy way, and then use the tablet to control the phone. Whether for transferring pictures, files, or making video calls, it is much more convenient than before.

In terms of price, Huawei MatePad currently offers two versions: WiFi and LTE. The selling prices are 3299 yuan (6GB + 128GB, approx.$469.99) and 3799 yuan (6GB + 128GB, approx.$569.99).

Huawei officials at the press conference said that they will release the 5G version next year. If you are interested in the latest relative products, please pay attention to our updates.
